What You'll Do
Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, customers and prospective clients by delivering exceptional service and identifying sales opportunities
Drive sales growth by developing new business while maintaining a strong pipeline of active customers, projects and bids
Provide product knowledge and guidance to support customer purchasing decisions and recommend solutions that meet customer needs
Communicate with customers via phone, email, in-store and on job sites to answer questions, process orders and provide project support
Prepare accurate bids, estimates, take-offs and material lists based on customer and contractor requirements
Share accurate pricing, inventory, product availability and delivery information to support sales and customer satisfaction
Enter orders accurately and efficiently while coordinating with store and operations teams to ensure timely fulfillment
Support accounts receivable collections and order management activities as needed
Partner with store teams to ensure excellent customer service, product availability and seamless order execution
Maintain organized records of customer interactions, active projects and sales opportunities
Reinforce safety standards and support overall store operations by assisting in other areas of the business as needed
Take on additional responsibilities and special projects to support the success of the store and company
What You Bring
High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework in business or a related field preferred
Previous sales experience, preferably within the building materials, lumber, construction or home improvement industry
Knowledge of building materials, including special order doors, windows and hardware products, is preferred
Ability to read blueprints, perform take-offs and prepare accurate material estimates
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build lasting customer relationships
Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple accounts, projects and priorities simultaneously
Results-oriented with a strong sales mindset and commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while remaining adaptable and flexible
Team-oriented approach with a willingness to support store needs and collaborate across departments
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer and job sites as needed
Ability to occasionally lift and move up to 50 lbs.
