The selected instructor will provide modern instruction, foster a professional learning environment, and support the college’s reputation for delivering quality instruction and preparing highly trained graduates for employment.</p>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS:</strong>&nbsp;</p>\n<p>· Minimum of five (5) years of successful experience in:&nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Aviation maintenance&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p>· Prior work experience must include:&nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintenance of aircraft&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Inspection of aircraft&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Alterations to powerplants and airframes&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Repairs to powerplants and airframes&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Heavy and/or light category aircraft&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p>· Associate of Applied Science degree preferred in:&nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Aviation Maintenance Technology&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Or a directly related field&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p>· Must be certified by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as a mechanic with:&nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Airframe rating&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Powerplant rating (A&amp;P certification)</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:</strong>&nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Previous teaching and/or training experience in aviation maintenance preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p>\n<ol>\n <li>Ensure all requirements of college and industry partners are met&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Maintain compliance with all FAA requirements&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Maintain professionalism with students, coworkers, and community members&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Provide excellent classroom and laboratory instruction in aviation maintenance using modern teaching methods and career-focused learning experiences&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Prepare lesson plans, job sheets, and laboratory demonstrations&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Recommend curriculum updates to maintain program relevance&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Monitor student progress, including internship participants&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Collaborate with instructors and support staff&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Continuously improve teaching methods and aviation maintenance skills&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Maintain compliance with all professional licensing requirements, including FAA standards&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Teach course material according to syllabus, catalog, and employer expectations&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Prepare and grade examinations and assignments in a timely manner&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Implement outcomes assessment and maintain student satisfaction standards&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Encourage student engagement and retention&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Begin and end classes on schedule with full instructional periods&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Maintain accurate attendance, grade, and reporting records&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Submit reports required by NWCC, the Mississippi Community College Board, FAA, and other partners&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Attend faculty meetings, in-service meetings, and college events&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Participate in campus and community extracurricular activities&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Supervise laboratory experiences&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Maintain a clean and safe laboratory environment&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Maintain inventory of assigned equipment and tools&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Maintain an active advisory committee with at least two meetings annually&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Visit industry partners to maintain employer relationships and monitor internships&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Advice and counsel students&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Assist students with employment placement&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Serve on faculty committees&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Participate in required training and professional development activities&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Perform additional duties as assigned by the Associate VP for Workforce &amp; Career Tech Education in support of the College mission</li>\n</ol>\n<p><strong>PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:</strong></p>\n<p>While performing the duties of this job, the instructor is regularly required to do the following:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Stand for long periods&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Talk, hear, view,&nbsp;and assist students&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Communicate with others in person, telephone, zoom, &amp; live chat</li>\n <li>Sit, use hands to handle or feel, and reach with hands and arms</li>\n <li>Stand, walk, stoop, or kneel</li>\n <li>Occasionally lift and/or move items of at least 15-20 pounds</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>APPLICATION</strong></p>\n<p>Interested applicants, should attach and submit the following:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Application at&nbsp;<a href=\"http://www.northwestms.edu/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">www.northwestms.edu</a></li>\n <li>Transcript</li>\n <li>Resume</li>\n <li>Three (3) Professional References (Name, Email and Phone Number)</li>\n <li>Application Deadline: &nbsp;Open Until Filled</li>\n</ul>",
