    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive <strong>Health and Safety Manager</strong> to oversee safety operations at a HAZWOPER site. This role is critical in ensuring regulatory compliance, managing emergency response efforts, and fostering a culture of safety. The ideal candidate will bring a strong technical background, leadership capabilities, and excellent interpersonal skills to protect workers, the public, and the environment.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensure compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120 and other applicable regulations.</li>\n <li>Develop, implement, and maintain the Site Health and Safety Plan (HASP) and Emergency Response Plan (ERP).</li>\n <li>Lead emergency response efforts including chemical spills, fires, and medical emergencies.</li>\n <li>Serve as Incident Commander or Safety Officer during emergency events.</li>\n <li>Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).</li>\n <li>Deliver HAZWOPER and emergency response training to site personnel.</li>\n <li>Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.</li>\n <li>Maintain accurate safety records and report performance metrics.</li>\n <li>Collaborate with site supervisors, contractors, and regulatory agencies.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field or 8 years of related field and management experience </li>\n <li>Minimum 5 years of experience in health and safety management, preferably in hazardous waste or emergency response environments.</li>\n <li>Current 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and 8-hour supervisor/refresher as applicable</li>\n <li>Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and NFPA regulations.</li>\n <li>Experience with emergency response planning and incident command systems (ICS).</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Preferred Certifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Certified Safety Professional (CSP)</li>\n <li>Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)</li>\n <li>First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor Certification</li>\n <li>ICS/NIMS Training</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Soft Skills & Competencies:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>Leadership:</strong> Ability to lead safety initiatives and emergency teams effectively.</li>\n <li><strong>Communication:</strong> Clear and professional verbal and written communication.</li>\n <li><strong>Problem-Solving:</strong> Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve safety issues.</li>\n <li><strong>Teamwork:</strong> Collaborative approach to working with diverse teams.</li>\n <li><strong>Adaptability:</strong> Calm and flexible in dynamic or emergency situations.</li>\n <li><strong>Attention to Detail:</strong> Thorough in inspections, documentation, and compliance.</li>\n <li><strong>Empathy & Coaching:</strong> Supportive in mentoring staff and promoting safe practices.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Benefits:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Competitive salary</li>\n <li>Health, dental, and vision insurance</li>\n <li>401(k) with company match</li>\n <li>Paid time off and holidays</li>\n <li>Professional development opportunities</li>\n</ul>",
