At the IAH Detention Facility in Livingston, Texas, our foundation is based upon the philosophies of caring about others, giving back, and making a social impact.&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<p><strong>Job responsibilities:</strong> Detention Officers are responsible for the custody and security of non-citizens assigned to the facility.</p>\n<p><strong>Essential functions:</strong></p>\n<ol>\n <li>Search for contraband and provide security.</li>\n <li>Count, feed and supervise non-citizens in housing, work and other areas, which includes climbing stairs.</li>\n <li>Provide custody and security of non-citizens including observation of non-citizens, which includes long periods of sitting and standing.</li>\n <li>Perform security functions, person, property and facility searches. Including “pat” and “strip” searches, which includes squatting and bending.</li>\n <li>Transfer and transport non-citizens by walking or riding in vehicles. Restrain and secure assaultive non-citizens, as needed.</li>\n <li>Respond to emergencies including climbing stairs, steps, and ladders while searching for escaped non-citizens, hearing calls for and calling for help, giving first aid at the emergency site, carrying an injured or unconscious non-citizen or employee various distances to safety up or down stairs, steps and ladders; and use force. Must be trained in the use of deadly force to include the use of chemical agents and firearms to control non-citizens if assigned to an armed post.</li>\n</ol>\n<p><strong>Education and Experience Requirements:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High school diploma or GED.</li>\n <li>Must be at least 18 years of age.</li>\n <li>Prior correctional experience is preferred but not required.</li>\n <li>A valid driver license in the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Why:</strong>&nbsp;Make a positive impact in your community by doing meaningful work that results in a rewarding career.</p>\n<p>Management &amp; Training Corporation (MTC) is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
