The manufacturing environment supports global customers across both high volume/low mix as well as low volume/high-mix products with an emphasis on complex machining, plating, welding, assembly, and testing processes. New product development and introduction is a critical aspect of this role and the successful candidate will be involved in all stages of product lifecycles. Additionally, the successful candidate will take on an active, hands-on role in the continuous improvement of manufacturing capabilities, as well as the ongoing development of manufacturing and testing practices.</p><p><strong><u>Specific Duties:</u></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li>Ensures effective communication between mechanical and electrical systems (PLC, HMI, Vision Systems, and Robotics).<ul type=\"disc\"><li>Maintain software revision control of electrical systems</li></ul></li><li>Leads control system design for new equipment, and planned upgrades</li><li>Monitors and analyzes equipment performance to identify and implement operational improvements</li><li>Interfaces with Test Engineering for effective communication between equipment and database(s)</li><li>Able to analyze existing production processes, identify work elements, time them &amp; optimize balance.</li><li>Provides equipment support and troubleshooting expertise</li><li>Conceptualize, specify &amp; implement industrial automation to reduce manual labor content &amp; improve quality.</li><li>Refines and enhances processes by applying continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing techniques to areas of production.&nbsp;</li><li>Facilitates and supports visual management in a production environment.</li><li>Evaluates capital equipment investments and prepares cost justifications. Designs and prepares concept controls schematics for new equipment or modifications to existing equipment.
