Description Pediatric Urology (APRN/PA) Instructor I The Division of Pediatric Urology in the Department of Urology at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine, is seeking an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a full-time position at the Instructor rank. Will provide evaluation with diagnostic testing and history taking in the patient population, communication with patient, family and referring provider regarding recommendations and findings based on current guidelines, education regarding diagnosis, testing and results. Independently provides care to patients in pediatric urology clinic under general or indirect supervision. Manages medical problems; initiates, monitors and alters pharmacologic or lifestyle regimens. Responsibilities Responsible for co-managing kids with urinary/genital issues (like spina bifida, incontinence, infections) in hospitals/clinics, performing H&Ps, ordering tests, creating care plans, educating families, assisting in surgery, and potentially research/teaching, focusing on evidence-based care from infancy through adolescence and into adulthood. Key duties include inpatient rounding, managing outpatient clinics (specialty/satellite), perioperative care, and collaborating with surgeons, residents, and fellows. Including but not limited to managing patient records and responding to patient messaging. Performs other duties as assigned. Represents and supports the mission, philosophy and goals of the Department of Urology and the University of South Florida Tampa General Physician's Group (USFTGP). Participates in clinical and educational programs required for licensure, certification and credentialing. Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher level administrator of a State university. Responsible for teaching, service, and related activities. May be responsible for research and/or academic advising and related activities. May represent the university, college/school, or department/unit on university and/or Statewide committees. Qualifications Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Instructor. This position requires graduation from an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 464 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64, or graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 458 and 459 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64.
