font-size: 18px\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">CARPENTER</span></strong></span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Susquehanna Valley Construction Corporation is a Heavy/Highway Road Construction company.  Rate of pay varies from project to project, but is determined by the prevailing wage rate listed in the specific job contract.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">A carpenter is responsible for planning and execution of the forming, pouring and stripping of substructure and superstructure concrete components and falsework associated with bridge construction.  This is a safety sensitive position.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; text-decoration: underline\">GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Must work quickly, productively and safely without error and consistently meet the production goals as set by the Foreman, Superintendent or Project Manager.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Must consistently produce quality workmanship as judged by Company standards as well as those set forth by PennDOT/PA Turnpike inspection.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Must have reliable transportation and show up to work on time every day.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Must possess a current valid PA driver’s license in order to operate any company vehicles.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Must be willing to travel to any and all job sites without exception (including staying away from home if necessary)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Must comply with all company safety and personnel policies.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Must be able to occasionally lift and carry 100 lbs.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Must be able to climb, bend, stoop, kneel, lift overhead, work at heights, walk/work in rough terrain in order to access equipment, tools, materials, and jobsite in order to complete work.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Must be able to work the hours necessary in order to achieve the goals of the company.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; text-decoration: underline\">JOB SPECIFIC SKILLS</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Must demonstrate an ability and willingness to learn all aspects of bridge construction.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Must possess and be proficient in using a wide variety of hand tools (hammers, drills, saws, vice grips, wrenches, levels, tapes, etc. necessary for carpentry.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Must be able to read and understand blueprints.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Must be proficient in forming footings.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Must be proficient in forming walls, wings and be able to tie in corners using EFCO forms, Ulma Forms and Wood Forms.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Must be proficient in forming diaphragms, cheekwalls and shear blocks.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Must be proficient in forming bulkheads.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Must be proficient at hanging and adjusting overhang jacks and forming all parts of overhang falsework.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Must be proficient at forming parapets.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Must be proficient at setting and adjusting Bidwell rail.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Must be proficient at preparing beam seats.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Must be able to tie and carry rebar as well as complete all tasks done by laborers and rebar placers.</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; text-decoration: underline\">WORK HOURS</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Monday thru Friday (typical)</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Eight(8) to ten(10) hours per day (typical), plus overtime (if necessary).</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Saturday and Sundays if necessary.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Night shift if necessary.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Work schedule is always prone to change due to weather, job restrictions, unforeseen delays, etc…</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; text-decoration: underline\">THE WORK ENVIRONMENT</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Job sites are typically located in Pennsylvania.  Job sites, because they are not shielded from the weather, can include excessive heat, cold, wind, rain and other weather related aspects.  At times, work will be conducted on uneven terrain, at heights and near/over water.</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px; text-decoration: underline\">REPORTING RELATIONSHIP</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif; font-size: 14px\">Carpenters will get direction and must follow instructions given by the Carpenter Foreman, Superintendent, Project Manager, Safety Director, Vice President and President.  Carpenters will be expected to cooperate and work productively with laborers, operators, truck drivers, mechanics and all other trades.  Carpenters will be expected to guide and instruct laborers when necessary. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;
