The Pre-Admission Clinic ensures patients are fully prepared for surgery in terms of patient optimization, appropriate pre-operative testing and intervention, and education surrounding what to expect before and after surgery. The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care for surgical care patients both independently and collaboratively with Anesthesiology and Internal Medicine, depending upon the complexity of patient needs. This includes: diagnosis, assessment, intervention and follow up for pre-operative patients. Human Resources Exemption: No Education Master of Nursing - Nurse Practitioner (MN-NP) Other Education and Training Basic Cardiac Life Support Certificate (BCLS) Competencies Advanced - Assessment skills Advanced - Organizational skills Advanced - Leadership skills Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge in leadership strategies Ability to lead/encourage/advise/collaborate with colleagues to achieve goals Knowledge of community programs/services Knowledge of common medical conditions and treatments. Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking Ability and flexibility in adapting to changing situations and environments Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office programs (Word/Excel/Outlook) Other Information Previous experience in surgical nursing is an asset Registered/eligible for registration with the CRNS as RN (NP) This position will be moving to Market Mall in Summer 2026.
