The salary range for this position is <strong>$69,000 – $85,000 USD.</strong> This role will support Lean Manufacturing initiatives across our production laboratories, partnering closely with operations, quality, training, supply chain, and leadership to improve efficiency, flow, safety, and quality.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This is a great opportunity for an early‑career engineer looking to develop hands‑on experience in a fast‑paced, bio‑manufacturing environment while contributing to meaningful work within animal genetics and agriculture.</p>\n<h2>You Will</h2>\n<p>Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean principles and data‑driven problem solving:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>5S and visual management</li>\n <li>Kaizen facilitation</li>\n <li>Kanban systems and pull control</li>\n <li>Error proofing (Poka‑Yoke)</li>\n <li>Quick changeover reduction (SMED)</li>\n <li>Root cause analysis (5 Whys, Ishikawa)</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Partner across engineering, production, quality, training, and supply chain to increase customer value by supporting:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>New equipment and tooling commissioning</li>\n <li>Capacity and headcount planning</li>\n <li>Production readiness reviews</li>\n <li>Evaluation of engineering changes and impact on production flow</li>\n <li>Strategic cost‑reduction projects</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Analyze manufacturing processes to identify and reduce waste through:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Time studies and process observations</li>\n <li>Current‑state vs. future‑state mapping</li>\n <li>Data‑based prioritization of improvement opportunities</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Develop and maintain standardized work, including:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Standard work instructions</li>\n <li>Yamazumi charts and takt‑based staffing plans</li>\n <li>Line balance and variability reduction</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Identify and support automation and advanced technology opportunities, including:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Human‑machine collaboration</li>\n <li>Digital tools and simulation</li>\n <li>AI‑supported decision making</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Build functional knowledge of company processes, products, and customers.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Provide informal guidance to newer team members.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Communicate technical concepts clearly in collaborative, cross‑functional settings.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Requirements</h2>\n<p><strong>Education</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree or higher in an engineering discipline</li>\n <li>Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Experience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>2+ years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment</li>\n <li>Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Skills & Competencies</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills</li>\n <li>Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications</li>\n <li>Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, process‑driven environment</li>\n <li>Strong collaboration and communication skills</li>\n <li>Ability to develop technical understanding of bio‑manufacturing processes</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Travel</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Less than 10%</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Business Overview</h2>\n<p><strong>Genus</strong> is an agricultural biotechnology pioneer.
