About Hexagon Bio: Hexagon Bio leverages a genomics-based platform and understanding of natural product evolution to develop next-generation antibody drug conjugates (ADCs) with novel payloads for cancer. We use data science, genomics, machine learning, synthetic biology, and automation to discover potent, evolutionarily refined small molecules from microbial genomes, and apply medicinal chemistry to optimize these molecules into truly transformative medicines. Location: Menlo Park, CA Job description: Hexagon Bio is seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientist to support the development and characterization of next-generation ADCs featuring novel natural-product payloads. This position involves hands-on laboratory execution to support in vitro to in vivo translation, large data analysis to inform clinical indication, and CRO management to drive efficacy and safety studies in different species. You will contribute to evaluating the promise of ADCs with first in class payloads. The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in cancer cell biology , in vitro and vivo pharmacology, an understanding of in vivo activity and exposure relationships , and a demonstrated ability to think critically, multi-task, troubleshoot assays, and interpret data. We seek innovative and collaborative team members who thrive in fast-paced environments and are motivated by our mission to transform cancer therapeutics with first-in-class drugs. Key Responsibilities: Design and execute in vitro assays to evaluate activity and potency (safety and efficacy) of ADCs with novel natural product payloads Design, execution, and interpretation of in vivo pharmacology studies to assess efficacy, safety, PK/PD relationships in multiple species Experience with computational methods to support integration and analysis of large data sets (proteomic, gene expression, or IHC), to drive model selection and translational research Develop plans for pharmacodynamic/safety assessment of tissue biomarkers and execute in vitro assays to guide model decisions Requirements: PhD in Cell Biology, Cancer Biology, Chemical Biology, or a related field. 3-4+ years of biotech/pharma experience. Experience in leading CRO campaigns to completion on timelines with high quality study data Experience generating and analyzing experimental datasets to support in vivo and ex-vivo model selection Deep understanding of efficacy and PK/PD drug relationships to help guide in vivo data interpretation Proficiency with multicolor flow cytometry is ideal Experience leading safety studies is a plus Experience supporting ADCs, or targeted oncology programs, is a bonus Strong analytical and troubleshooting ability Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills Ability to work both independently and in cross-functional teams, and to positively partner with team members to move projects to completion Initiative, creativity, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment What We Offer: A flexible and dynamic work environment where you pave your own path, Hexagon cultivates employees' unique strengths at all levels and provides mobility across departments. “All Hands Meetings” provide an opportunity to share company and team updates. Additional Information: The salary range is dependent on the level of Scientist that is hired. The salary range for this position is $150,000 - $180,000. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across California locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
