Position Scope Position Scope NACG is looking for a Journeyperson Welder to work at our Acheson Shop location. This is your opportunity to join one of the safest and largest contracts in the region. For this role, NACG offers a combined gross rate of up to $59.90/hour as well as room for growth! Where You’ll Be Working Location: Acheson Schedule: 7 x 7, 11.5 hour, rotating days and nights (week of days, week off, week of nights, week off) Hourly Rate: Between $ 50.37 to $53.37/hour. Overtime: After 44 hours in a week or designated day off What’s In It for You? Benefits are important and we offer lots! Up to a combined gross rate of pay of $59.90/ hour Vacation and Statutory Holiday pay allocated to each paycheck Night shift premium Boot Allowance Paid weekly Membership with one of the largest IUOE locals in North America Benefits and pension after 400 hours worked, including medical and dental benefits PPE provided, just bring your own CSA certified steel toed boots Room for growth and future advancements We are proud to work with the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 955. Successful candidates will become a part of that union. Responsibilities What You'll Be Doing Complete repairs on mining equipment, including Haul Trucks, Excavators, Shovels, and Dozers (CAT/Hitachi/Komatsu) Develop a work scope Fabricate from blueprints Complete reports and fill out work orders when required Teach and evaluate apprentices Follow NACG codes of practice and safety procedures Qualifications What Makes You the ONE 1-2 years experience working on heavy equipment (CAT/Hitachi/Komatsu) Journeyperson Welder ticket First Aid Strong communication skills Proficiency in English, both written and verbal Intermediate computer skills Strong interpersonal skills Self motivated Willingness to learn Show leadership skills Summary What's Next If you are chosen to move forward in our hiring process, you will be asked to provide the following: Provide a valid Class 5 Driver’s License and a recent Driver’s Abstract Undergo and successfully pass the following pre-employment testing: Breath Alcohol Test Urine Drug Test Fitness-to-Work Assessment Audiometric Testing Vision Screening Criminal Record Check Once moved into onboarding, the following processes will occur: Will receive a call from NACG to set up all required pre-employment testing An email will be sent with all required New Hire Paperwork to be filled out After all results and paperwork are received by NACG, candidates will be contacted by us to schedule orientation and confirm your start date and other location (site) specific details.
