    "description": "<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Job Description</strong>: </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Peraton is seeking an experienced systems <strong>Virtual Desktop Systems Engineer </strong>to join our national intelligence program that delivers engineering, application development, deployment, operations, upgrades and sustainment of products and services to achieve our client’s global missions. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The <strong>Virtual Desktop Systems Engineer</strong> will have an emphasis on User Profiles. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> <strong>Responsibilities: </strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Manage user accounts, permissions, licenses, and monitoring of system performance to proactively resolve technical issues. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Analyze and interpret data to improve infrastructure performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions, to include monitoring system performance and troubleshooting issues to ensure compliance with performance standards. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensure data security and compliance with industry standards and regulations. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network engineers. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Monitor and manage enterprise system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Assess and remediate the enterprise design and implementation to mitigate performance and cybersecurity risks. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts.   </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of problems.   </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Configure operating systems and support enterprise servers.   </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Install and configure database and application software.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Perform database backups and system restoration, monitor database performance, and perform troubleshooting.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Interact with users and interfacing applications.  </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Provide hardware and software backup recovery. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Other duties may include setting up administrator accounts, maintaining system documentation, tune system performance, installing system wide software, and allocating mass storage space. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Develop, implement and maintain processes, procedures, test cases, test results, issue resolutions, performance analysis, and user guidelines/ instructions documentation.  </li>\n <li>Travel may be required within the National Capital Region (NCR) on an as needed basis for customer or corporate requirements. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>**Position is Contingent on Contract Award**</strong> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Basic Qualifications</strong><strong>:</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Active Top Secret/ Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with ability to pass and obtain a Poly Clearance. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum of 8 years relevant experience with bachelor’s degree; Minimum of 6 years with master’s degree; Minimum of 3 years with PhD or 12+ years of relevant work experience can be used in lieu of a degree. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Current CISSP or Security + Certification. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Proven work experience as a Systems Engineer, Systems Admin or similar role in a large, distributed computing environment. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with data analysis tools, knowledge of system performance metrics, and familiarity with infrastructure management systems. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Excellent communication and teamwork skills. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Excellent problem-solving skills. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong understanding of User Profile administration. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Desired Qualifications:</strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Active TS/SCI with Poly clearances. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Current VMware, Nutanix, or similar Certification e.g. VCP, NCP, etc. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with Docker and Kubernetes. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with Terraform or Ansible. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience with Dell PowerFlex. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Experience working in a large enterprise environment. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Knowledge of storage area networks to include network operating systems, SAN protocols, SAN management, and SAN physical configuration. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Minimum of 8-12 years’ experience, in supporting virtualization technologies preferred. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong understanding of data center networking (TCP/IP, switching/routing, ports and protocols, firewall concepts, load-balancing). </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong Scripting experience in one or more of the following: PowerShell, Ansible, Puppet, Chef, VBScript, C++, Unix Shell, Python, Perl, Ruby, JavaScript, etc. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Strong understanding of storage protocols (e.g. NFS, SMB, S3, FC, iSCSI, NVMe). </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Good knowledge of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Knowledge of MS Windows Server operating systems including Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 as well as RHEL and SLES operating systems. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Knowledge of MS database server SQL Server 2008 R2 and later. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Knowledge of container technologies including but not limited to Docker, Kubernetes, and Rancher. </li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Knowledge of IaaS in cloud using MS Azure, AWS, or GCP. </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>SECURITY CLEARANCE: </strong> </p>\n<p>This Position requires an Active TS/SCI and the ability to obtain a Poly, US Citizenship is required to hold this clearance.  </p>\n<h2>Peraton Overview</h2>\n<p>Peraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
