Nature of Work: This position typically reports to the Head Athletic Trainer, Director, or appropriate higher level administrator in the University.
Responsibilities
• Provides medical care to assigned patient populations, including daily evaluations, emergency care, treatments, rehabilitation sessions, and attending practices and games as assigned.
• Develop injury prevention programs, which may include use of modalities, therapeutic exercises, reconditioning exercises, along with other members of the healthcare and performance team.
• Utilize software to track and document patient medical records and coordinate insurance information.
• Acts as a liaison between patients, parents, coaches, physicians, administrators and others as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
This position requires a Master’s degree from an accredited university; certification by the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATABOC); and eligible for Florida State Department of Health licensure.
Senate Bill 1310- The Florida Senate (https://www.flsenate.gov/Session/Bill/2023/1310) is conditional upon meeting all employment eligibility requirements in the U.S.
SB 1310: Substitution of Work Experience for Postsecondary Education Requirements
A public employer may include a postsecondary degree as a baseline requirement only as an alternative to the number of years of direct experience required, not to exceed:
(a) Two years of direct experience for an associate degree;
(b) Four years of direct experience for a bachelor’s degree;
(c) Six years of direct experience for a master’s degree;
(d) Seven years of direct experience for a professional degree; or
(e) Nine years of direct experience for a doctoral degree
