As we continue to grow our presence across Western Canada, we are building a strong team of field professionals to support critical infrastructure projects throughout British Columbia.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>The Opportunity</strong>We are seeking a Protection & Control (P&C) Specialist (Technologist or Engineer) to support the execution of field commissioning and testing activities on power system projects.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This is a hands-on, field-focused role ideal for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, working on-site, and collaborating with experienced teams to deliver high-quality results. This position focuses on commissioning, testing, and field support not design.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Support installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Protective relays, RTUs, PLCs, DFRs, and communication systems</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Perform field testing for:\n  <ul>\n   <li>Transmission and distribution systems, transformers, buses, and generation assets</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Assist with configuration and commissioning of relay systems, including:\n  <ul>\n   <li>SEL (e.g., 311, 387, 487, 787)</li>\n   <li>GE Multilin relays (e.g., C30, D60, T60, L90)</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Support SCADA and RTU integration and upgrades</li>\n <li>Interpret drawings, protection schemes, and relay settings</li>\n <li>Troubleshoot and resolve field issues with guidance from senior specialists</li>\n <li>Contribute to project documentation and commissioning reports</li>\n <li>Maintain strong communication with clients and internal teams</li>\n <li>Promote and follow Shermco’s safety-first culture</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><p>3 - 7 years of progressive experience in protection & controls field services</p></li>\n <li><p>Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline</p></li>\n <li><p>Experience with protection relays (SEL preferred; GE considered an asset)</p></li>\n <li><p>Familiarity with RTU and communication systems (SEL, GE, Novatech, etc.)</p></li>\n <li><p>Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills</p></li>\n <li><p>Effective communication and teamwork abilities</p></li>\n <li><p>Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel across BC</p></li>\n <li><p>Legally authorized to work in Canada</p></li>\n <li><p>Nice to have:</p>\n  <ul>\n   <li><p>NETA Certification (or working toward certification)</p></li>\n   <li><p>Previous experience supporting commissioning projects</p></li>\n  </ul></li>\n</ul>\n<p>What You’ll Contribute To</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Field execution of commissioning and testing projects</li>\n <li>Reliable and safe delivery of P&C services</li>\n <li>Continuous improvement and team collaboration</li>\n <li>Development of your technical expertise through hands-on experience</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Why Join Shermco Industries</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Travel and accommodation expenses fully covered for out-of-town work</li>\n <li>Work on critical energy and infrastructure projects across BC</li>\n <li>Ongoing technical training and manufacturer certifications</li>\n <li>Strong safety-first culture and supportive field environment</li>\n <li>Opportunities for advancement into senior and leadership roles</li>\n <li>Collaborative, skilled, and growing Canadian team</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Pay Range</h2>CAD $65.00 - CAD $75.00 /Hr.",
