Description

Provides and ensures the humane treatment and care for animals by providing animal husbandry, kennel sanitation, along with feeding and watering the animals. Ensures epidemiological risks are limited, disease and injury are rapidly observed and follows established protocols to ensure animal health and safety. Ensures that facilities are in good repair and working order by recognizing the need for repairs and reporting them accordingly. Maintains accurate records for animals, controlled substances, and documents according to Federal and State Law and policy. Maintains inventory records of controlled substances and Municipal Animal Services supplies. Maintains facilities in a neat and organized manner. Maintains supplies and storage areas in a neat and organized manner, managing inventory and supplies in accordance with established policies and practices. Receives animals from citizens and provides compassionate customer service. Responds to residents and other departments calls for service, including but not limited to: loose animals, bite incidents, aggressive animals, neglect investigations, confined animal pick up, deceased animal pick up and other enforcement duties. Uses technology efficiently, including animal management software, field operations software, technological programs to streamline and organize workload, and basic office equipment. Routes issues and complaints to the appropriate personnel. Assists with coordination and communication with rescue partners and citizens. Regular and timely attendance.
