The ideal candidate is comfortable working backend services and databases—and has a strong understanding of modern development practices, automation, and cloud native architecture. This role will also contribute to infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment processes using tools such as Ansible and Terraform.  </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>This role requires full-time<u>,</u> on-site presence, Monday through Friday, at our customer location with the U.S. Space Force in Colorado Springs, CO.</strong> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Design, build, and maintain back end web applications, APIs, and backend<u> </u>services. </li>\n <li>Build, optimize, and scale server-side logic, data models, and database integrations. </li>\n <li>Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support automated builds, testing, and deployments. </li>\n <li>Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineering teams to define and deliver technical solutions. </li>\n <li>Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and the development of engineering best practices. </li>\n <li>Write clean, testable, and maintainable code and contribute to automated testing frameworks. </li>\n <li>Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues across the full application stack and support infrastructure.</li>\n <li>Stay current on emerging technologies, DevSecOps trends, and automation practices to  recommend continuous improvements. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Education/Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong><u>Required:</u></strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li><strong>U.S. citizenship required, with ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense TS/SCI clearance; Non-U.S. citizens cannot be considered.</strong></li>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field with 18+ years of software development experience <strong>~OR~</strong> a Master’s degree with 10+ years of experience.</li>\n <li>Availability to work on-site five days per week in Colorado Springs, CO. </li>\n <li>Strong proficiency with server-side languages and frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java, or similar). </li>\n <li>Experience with relational databases, such as PostgreSQL or MySQL. </li>\n <li>Familiarity with AWS and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes). </li>\n <li>Hands-on experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines with GitLab (CLI and Runners). </li>\n <li>Understanding of automation and infrastructure-as-code concepts as well as experience using Terraform. </li>\n <li>Experience using Ansible for configuration management and system provisioning. </li>\n <li>Experience using Jira to support agile software development, sprint planning, backlog management, and defect tracking.</li>\n <li>Familiarity with Linux command-line tools, scripting, and system troubleshooting within Red Hat Enterprise Linux environments.</li>\n <li>Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively. </li>\n</ul>\n<p>  </p>\n<p><strong><u>Preferred:</u></strong> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>Proficiency with front-end technologies including JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and frameworks like such as React or Angular.</li>\n <li>Experience with microservices or event-driven architectures. </li>\n <li>Knowledge of API design principles and best practices (REST). </li>\n <li>Familiarity with automated testing frameworks for both frontend and backend systems. </li>\n <li>Understanding of security best practices, secure coding, secrets management, SBOMs generation, and DevSecOps metrics (DORA). </li>\n <li>Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools. </li>\n <li>Background in agile methodologies and DevSecOps workflows. </li>\n</ul>\n<p>For this role, the compensation range for candidates in Colorado is $123k - 200k*.</p>\n<p>*Note: Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience.
