Position Description
At a Glance
Legrand is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to join our Data, Power & Control (CCB) Team in Farmingdale, NY . This role supports a safe, inclusive, and environmentally responsible workplace by leading key EHS initiatives that encourage collaboration and continuous improvement.
What Will You Do?
You will contribute to creating a workplace where every team member feels valued and safe. Key responsibilities include:
Actively monitor safe working conditions through a strong, supportive presence on the floor.
Develop, improve, and maintain EHS programs using an inclusive, team-centered approach.
Lead environmental programs related to air, waste, and wastewater.
Facilitate incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
Address safety concerns constructively and evaluate corrective actions.
Partner collaboratively with teams and vendors to evaluate tools and equipment that improve ergonomics and reduce risk.
Guide the Safety Committee and support an open, participatory safety culture.
Encourage daily safety talks and ensure shared understanding across teams.
Implement and evaluate training to meet EPA, ISO-14001, and OSHA requirements.
Conduct or coordinate training on safe operations, hazard identification, and safety equipment.
Manage ergonomic assessments and continuous improvements.
Inspect facilities to ensure regulatory compliance and hazard elimination.
Ensure reporting, analysis, and recordkeeping for EHS compliance.
Align corporate and local EHS goals.
Perform other duties as needed.
Qualifications

Education
Associate’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Experience
5+ years of experience in environmental health and safety.
Manufacturing experience preferred.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred as part of our commitment to inclusive communication.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
Strong organization and time management skills.
Ability to conduct incident investigation and root cause analysis.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and develop solutions effectively.
Strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
Self-directed with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Ability to interpret and analyze data for reports.
Knowledge of applicable environmental and safety regulations.
Salary and Benfits: $100,000 - $120,000 plus bonus
