Join us at Camp Colonie for an exciting summer as a (temporary) Special Education Teacher.</strong></p><p style=\"text-align:center;\"><strong>Applicants must be available&nbsp;June 29- August 14 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p><p style=\"text-align:center;\">&nbsp;</p><p><strong>What You'll Do</strong></p><p>As a Special Education Teacher, you will provide instruction aligned with IEP goals, overall wellness of students, and both group and individual instruction for the extended school year program.</p><p><strong>Applicants must be available&nbsp;June 29- August 14 &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p><p style=\"text-align:center;\">&nbsp;</p><p><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Aptos&quot;,sans-serif;\"><strong>Your Responsibilities Will Include:</strong></span></p><ul><li>Design a classroom environment that is both motivating and stimulating for students.</li><li>Provide a daily written lesson plan in appropriate book form.&nbsp; Store book accessibly at the school should the teacher be unexpectedly absent.</li><li>Maintain periodic progress scales for each pupil and attend case conferences on each student at appropriate intervals during the school year.</li><li>Implement behavioral system, as approved by treatment team and T.C.I. protocols.</li><li>Assure that accurate attendance records are maintained and are to be submitted appropriately prior to the completion of the school year.</li><li>Submit monthly reports to appropriate parties.</li><li>Attend school-specific and Agency-related staff and/or parent meetings as required.</li><li>Assure that all students are supervised at all times by a responsible individual who is a paid employee of the agency.</li><li>Attend annual orientation for staff prior to school opening.</li><li>Develop a working relationship with the assigned professionals as well as the coordinator of therapeutic classroom activities.</li><li>Collaborate with the Treatment Team regarding treatment of the children and diagnostic information.</li><li>Participate in meetings and workshops that would serve as community orientation regarding Easter Seals.</li><li>Help organize and supervise extracurricular activities.</li><li>Supervise aides assigned to classroom.</li><li>Transport students to and from group residence, activities, work, etc.&nbsp; Use of own vehicle is frequent, if not daily.</li><li>Develop IEPs within 30 days of Admission.&nbsp; Act as coordinator for therapist's reports for IEP meetings.</li><li>Follow program of Certification developed by the state Department of Education and local Master Plan of the Society</li></ul><div><div><div>&nbsp;</div><div><p><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Aptos&quot;,sans-serif;\"><strong>You're a great fit for this role if you have:</strong></span></p></div><ul><li>Bachelor's Degree from accredited college or university.</li><li>Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.</li><li>NYS Certification in Special Education K-12 or 7-12.</li><li><p>Flexibility, desire to work outdoors and experience with children is preferred.</p><p>&nbsp;</p></li></ul><div><div><p style=\"line-height:normal;margin-bottom:0in;margin-top:0in;\"><strong>Compensation: $20-30/hr.</strong></p><p style=\"line-height:normal;margin-bottom:0in;margin-top:0in;\"><strong>Position Type:</strong>&nbsp;Full Time - Temporary</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Who We Are</strong></p><p>Camp Colonie is a unique, outdoor summer school and recreational program for for children and young adults 5-21 years of age.
