We are seeking a Spacesuit Project Engineer to join the JETSII contract. ** We are actively searching for qualified candidates for this potential opening; however, we do not have assurance at this time when the position will be finalized and opened. Because we have strong reason to believe the position will be approved soon, we are proceeding with identifying qualified candidates and conducting interviews. ** The Spacesuit Project Engineer will: Perform project and test engineering functions for EVA spacesuit design, development, procurement, manufacture, test, and certification. Develop essential documentation for the assigned tests including test plans, hazard analyses, test procedures, Test Readiness Review documentation, and any additional operations-related products. Design tests and test rigs, identifying instrumentation and data acquisition systems. Coordinate test activities and requirements with NASA test facilities. Setup and execute tests and prepare summary reports documenting test results. Plan and execute hardware troubleshooting to investigate mechanical and electrical failures within spacesuit hardware, development test articles, or test support hardware. Select and apply engineering techniques to analyze and evaluate specific problems, data, or other features of the work which are broad in scope and Perform job functions based on pre-established guidelines or instructions. Experience with NASA test processes. Familiar with electro-mechanical hardware elements (pumps, relief valves, control valves, heating elements, water quality instrumentation, temperature/pressure sensors, etc), and data acquisition systems.
