Building on Michael Baker International’s more than 85‑year legacy, IDA supports the firm’s long-term growth strategy through technical excellence, informed decision making, and practical solutions focused on high‑performance buildings, intelligent systems, secure digital environments, and critical infrastructure.</p>\n<p><strong>JOB DESCRIPTION</strong></p>\n<p>We are looking for a Structural Engineer to join our National Integrated Design &amp; Advisory team in Rocky Hill, CT. In this role, you will work under minimal supervision to analyze design criteria, applicable codes, and client requirements. You will prepare calculations necessary for the production of structural engineering construction drawings and specifications for both building and non-building projects.&nbsp;</p>\n<p><strong>RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Prepares complex studies, construction documents (drawings and specifications), basic reports and other supporting documentation to support structural building design and reviews those completed by others.</li>\n <li>Act as DOR, as required.</li>\n <li>Provide clear redlines for EIT’s and BIM designers; check design calculations performed by others; conduct Internal Technical Reviews (ITRs) of others work; handle multiple projects; mentor less experienced staff and provide guidance throughout project design.</li>\n <li>Ability to follow MBI project standards and team protocols.</li>\n <li>Ability to review and comment on construction submittals, respond to Contractor Requests for Information (RFI) and review corrective action for field errors.</li>\n <li>Communicates with Senior Engineers, other disciplines and Project Managers, schedules and attends internal meetings, as necessary, and documents important action items for the next meeting.</li>\n <li>Ability to interact with existing and new Clients to sell MBI engineering services, specifically structural.</li>\n <li>Responsible for maintaining technical knowledge and professional licensure through completion of various training activities: attending seminars, reviewing professional publications, attending in-house systems/management training.</li>\n <li>Occasionally visits project sites, reporting and documenting findings to Project Manager and/or Owner.</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned.</li>\n <li>Work Location (Hybrid): Rocky Hill, CT; Other location options: Boston (Waltham); Providence, RI</li>\n</ul>\n<p>Supervisory Responsibilities&nbsp;</p>\n<ul>\n <li>May provide guidance or informal training to less experienced personnel.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p>\n<p>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
