Entering our ninth year of summer camps, we are currently offering volunteer opportunities to fun, outgoing, and responsible youth, who have completed our Leader-In-Training or Counsellor-In-Training program, and are looking to help us make Camp Brimacombe a fun and safe place for our campers this summer.</span></p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span>As a volunteer on the Camp Brimacombe team, you will be assigned to a group where you will shadow one of our counsellors, practicing leadership skills and assisting in programming &amp; activities that promote learning for not only the campers, but you as well. We will treat you with respect and give you the opportunity to take ownership this summer by providing input into the activities, and helping implement positive growth of campers and the camp itself. </span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Key Responsibilities:</span></p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Shadow assigned Counsellor and h</span><span>elp implement the weekly schedule within the assigned camp group</span></li>\n<li><span>Assist in maintaining a safe and fun learning environment for campers</span></li>\n<li><span>Assist in preparing camp spaces and materials as needed throughout the day</span><br></li>\n<li><span>Assist with programming and activities for campers, following Brimacombe standards and protocol</span><br></li>\n<li><span>Follow all safety guidelines associated with the camp and all program areas and assist with enforcing these protocols within the camp group</span></li>\n<li><span>Help create a positive camper experience, consistent with Brimacombe standards</span></li>\n<li><span>Participate in on-going training sessions, as required</span></li>\n<li><span>Ready to take on any challenge and help when needed </span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications:</span><br></p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span>Successful completion of Camp Brimacombe's <a href=\"https://www.summercamp.brimacombe.ca/leaderintraining\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">LIT</a> or <a href=\"https://www.summercamp.brimacombe.ca/counsellorintraining\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">CIT</a> program </span></li>\n<li><span>Completion of <a href=\"https://www.labour.gov.on.ca/english/hs/elearn/worker/foursteps.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ontario's Ministry of Labour Worker Health and Safety Awareness Training</a></span></li>\n<li><span>Valid First Aid certification</span><br></li>\n<li><span>Ability to work well as part of a team</span></li>\n<li><span>Strong communication skills</span></li>\n<li><span>Outgoing</span></li>\n<li><span>Enjoy working with children</span><br></li>\n<li><span>Ability to engage in physical labour of lifting, moving (chairs/tables etc.), bending, running and lots of walking (this is a very active job)</span></li>\n</ul>\n<p><br></p>\n<p>If selected to volunteer, you will also receive a copy of Brimacombe's Criminal Offence Declaration form which must be completed and successfully submitted prior to your first day. <em>This only needs to be completed once per summer, regardless of the number of volunteer weeks completed.</em></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">To Apply:</span></p>\n<p><span> </span></p>\n<p><span>Please complete an electronic application by clicking the APPLY button associated with this posting</span><span>.
