    "description": "<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Who We Are </span></p>\n<p>Newton LLC is an engineering and end-to-end product development company headquartered in Riverdale, MD committed to the development of science and the aerospace industry.</p>\n<p>Our firm is an ISO 9001 / AS9100D certified 8(a) Small Disadvantaged Business that helps materialize projects and ideas for the missions that move the world forward.</p>\n<p>We consistently provide efficient and effective results, always on time, no matter the challenge.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Who We Are Looking For</span></p>\n<p>Mechanical Engineering Technician</p>\n<p>Purpose: Support the assembly, maintenance, and testing of mechanical systems and components to ensure proper functionality and performance.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Activities include: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assembling and installing mechanical components and systems.</li>\n<li>Performing routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs.</li>\n<li>Conducting tests and troubleshooting mechanical issues.</li>\n<li>Reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics.</li>\n<li>Assisting engineers with prototype development and modifications.</li>\n<li>Maintaining tools, equipment, and work areas in proper condition.</li>\n<li>Assist with CNC machine operation and clean up.</li>\n<li>On occasion, working extended hours to meet tight deadlines</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Qualifications: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>High School diploma or GED</li>\n<li>2+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical assembly or maintenance.</li>\n<li>Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.</li>\n<li>Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.</li>\n<li>Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.</li>\n<li>Able to stand and work on your feet for long durations</li>\n<li>Periodically lift 50+ pounds.</li>\n<li>Basic computer skills. (Microsoft 365)</li>\n<li>Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain authorization from the U.S. Department of State.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Desired</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Associates degree or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering Technology or a related field.</li>\n<li>Previous experience working with tight tolerance assemblies.</li>\n<li>Soldering and electrical assembly experience.</li>\n<li>Cable harness assembly experience.</li>\n</ul>",
