The successful candidate will have a proven track record leading and performing diverse and complex work in the areas of traffic engineering and ITS. As a technical expert you will have a key role in project work, while also cultivating relationships with existing and new clients. You will work to achieve our goals of a profitable operation and a supportive and inclusive work environment.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>The ideal candidate has traffic engineering expertise including: </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>ITS Planning and Design</li>\n <li>Traffic Signal Design</li>\n <li>Coordinated Signal Timing Development and Implementation</li>\n <li>Lighting Analysis & Design</li>\n <li>Maintenance of Traffic (MOT)</li>\n <li>Capacity and Microsimulation Analysis</li>\n <li>Safety Studies and Crash Predictive Analysis</li>\n <li>Traffic Studies</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Serve as a leader delivering traffic engineering and ITS services for IDOT and other clients within the Great Lakes Division.</li>\n <li>Actively manage traffic and ITS tasks as part of a multi-disciplinary project team including schedule, scope, and budget.</li>\n <li>Prepare reports, specifications, and designs for transportation projects.</li>\n <li>Administer quality management plans and perform thorough, detailed reviews of project deliverables.</li>\n <li>Assist in business development responsibilities, including client discovery, proposal generation, interviews, and win-to-work activities.</li>\n <li>Mentor junior engineering associates.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>ABET accredited bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.</li>\n <li>PE Licensure.</li>\n <li>Minimum 7 years of engineering experience including proven technical leadership (decision-making on technical matters).</li>\n <li>Experience with IDOT specifications and procedures.</li>\n <li>Proficiency with OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD Civil3D, HCS, Synchro, Sidra, VISSIM and/or HSM procedures.</li>\n <li>Possess strong oral and written communication skills and can effectively interact and build strong relationships with team members, clients, and other key stakeholders.</li>\n <li>Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE) certification preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Hiring Salary Range:</strong> <em>($106,960 - $171,181)</em> — for this location.
