M&J is expanding its Construction Management and Inspection Services into Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia, and we’re looking for talented professionals to join our team! We currently have a business development office in Rockville, MD, and are actively building our local technical team to support upcoming transportation infrastructure projects. If you have experience in VDOT, MDOT, DDOT, or WMATA construction inspection and management, we want to hear from you!</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>We are seeking multiple highly experienced and detail-oriented <strong>Senior Inspectors</strong> to oversee field inspection activities on major construction projects. This role involves supervising inspection teams, ensuring strict adherence to project specifications, and coordinating with contractors, engineers, and project stakeholders. The Senior Inspectors will serve as a subject matter expert, mentor junior inspectors, and contribute to quality assurance, safety, and compliance processes.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>Apply through this site or send resume to </strong><strong>[email protected]</strong><strong>.</strong></p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Lead and perform complex field inspections of construction work to ensure conformance with plans, specifications, codes, and applicable regulations.</p></li>\n <li><p>Supervise and mentor junior and mid-level inspectors; provide technical guidance and support.</p></li>\n <li><p>Monitor contractor activities and report progress, delays, and non-compliance issues.</p></li>\n <li><p>Review and interpret construction documents (plans, specs, submittals, RFIs, change orders).</p></li>\n <li><p>Maintain and audit daily reports, inspection logs, material test results, and photographic documentation.</p></li>\n <li><p>Coordinate with project engineers, contractors, clients, and other stakeholders to resolve field issues.</p></li>\n <li><p>Ensure compliance with safety standards, environmental requirements, and quality control procedures.</p></li>\n <li><p>Participate in or lead pre-construction meetings, progress meetings, and punch list walks.</p></li>\n <li><p>Validate pay quantities, evaluate contractor claims, and assist with final acceptance documentation.</p></li>\n <li><p>Conduct or oversee testing (e.g., concrete, soil, asphalt) and inspections (e.g., structural, civil, utility).</p></li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li><p>Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred.</p></li>\n <li><p>Experience with VDOT, MDOT, DDOT, or WMATA construction projects preferred.</p></li>\n <li><p>Familiarity with VDOT Road and Bridge specifications and OSHA safety standards.</p></li>\n <li><p><strong>6+ years</strong> of progressive field inspection experience in construction or infrastructure projects.</p></li>\n <li><p>Strong understanding of civil/site/structural construction methods and materials.</p></li>\n <li><p>Proficient in interpreting plans, specifications, and contract documents.</p></li>\n <li><p>Strong written and verbal communication skills.</p></li>\n <li><p>Ability to lead field teams and interface effectively with contractors and engineers.</p></li>\n <li>Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Benefits</h2>\n<p>M&J is a leader in providing quality engineering consulting services to a diverse and exciting client base.
