As part of HDR’s Transportation Business Group, you’ll help shape the systems that move people and goods safely, efficiently, and sustainably. From designing resilient highways and iconic bridges to advancing transit, passenger and freight rail, aviation, federal transportation ports and marine infrastructure, your work will directly support economic vitality, public safety, sustainable and resilient communities and quality of life. We bring together planners, engineers, architects, construction management staff, environmental, strategic communications, economists, management consultants and specialists across disciplines to solve complex mobility challenges with innovation, technical excellence, and a deep understanding of community needs. In the role of Transportation Planner 1, we'll count on you to: Collect, assimilate and manage project-related data utilizing excel, summarizing results in word, and preparing PowerPoint presentations Prepare constraints mapping and required documents Assist in preparation and participation of public information meetings and hearings Assist in development of conceptual plans Research and compile data in excel or other programs Perform other duties as needed Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, Public Policy, Political Science, or related field Computer skills using Microsoft Office and a variety of web-based media sharing platforms Demonstrable applied interest in transportation infrastructure development Strong verbal and written skills; strong organization and communication skills Ability to multitask while working on many projects at once ArcMap and ArcPro GIS experience Interest in and understanding of the US transportation system Local candidates are preferred Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must What We Believe HDR is our company.
