Join our team to enjoy comprehensive benefits, including travel privileges on the American Airlines global network, so you can explore new destinations and create unforgettable memories with family and friends.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<h1><strong>Position Summary</strong></h1>\n<p>The Ground Training Instructor is responsible for ground school modules, recurrent ground school and basic indoctrination.</p>\n<h2><strong>Job Responsibilities</strong></h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Planning and efficient scheduling of all Ground Instruction activities. </li>\n <li>Developing printed and/or electronic course ware and revising training documents as needed. </li>\n <li>Responsible for course-ware development and course content. </li>\n <li>Teaching any new curriculum as required to meet the changing training needs of PSA. </li>\n <li>Ensures all ground training meets regulatory compliance standards and is properly documented in accordance with the PSA Training Manual. </li>\n <li>Provides a point of communication for students before and during Ground Training. </li>\n <li>Effectively and positively resolves issues related to hotel, travel, dress code, behavior, etc. </li>\n <li>Develop and publish all online tests and distance learning modules, ensure compliance with completion standards, and coordinate with payroll to ensure proper pay. </li>\n <li>Monitor student progress and intervene with additional training or counseling when needed. </li>\n <li>Responsible for making final determination regarding student performance and recommendation for simulator training. </li>\n <li>Responsible for maintaining operational effectiveness of IPTs, FTDs, iPads, and VSIM. </li>\n <li>Ensures new hire pilots have completed required time verifications, meet company minimums, and properly prepare paperwork necessary for check-rides. </li>\n <li>Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs </li>\n <li>Performs other duties as assigned. </li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Position Specifics</h2>\n<h1><strong>Qualifications</strong></h1>\n<p>Required</p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School diploma or equivalent.</li>\n <li><p>1-2 years’ experience as a flight instructor-simulator and/or airplane.</p></li>\n <li><p>Ability to speak/read/write in English.</p></li>\n <li><p>If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the U.S.</p></li>\n</ul>\n<p>Preferred</p>\n<ul>\n <li><p>PSA pilot experience.</p></li>\n <li><p>Associates or Bachelor’s degree.</p></li>\n <li><p>PSA dispatcher experience.</p></li>\n <li><p>Adult learning classroom instructor experience.</p></li>\n</ul>\n<h2><strong>Additional Information</strong></h2>\n<p><strong>Delegation:</strong> In absence, responsibilities delegated to Manager of Ground Training.</p>\n<p><strong>Authorities: </strong>None </p>\n<p><strong>Supervisory Responsibility:</strong> This is not a supervisory position. </p>\n<p><strong>Work Environment</strong>: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, telephones, photocopiers, facsimile machines and filing cabinets.<strong>Physical Demands:</strong> The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
