We aim to revolutionize the use of robotics within industry to free human resources from labor-intensive tasks to focus on more intellectual challenges.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The <span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Director of Software Development</span> will oversee multiple development teams focused on areas such as motion planning, real-time control, cloud integration, and user interfaces. This position requires a strategic thinker with hands-on technical depth and proven leadership experience in scaling software organizations within robotics or complex hardware-software environments.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Description: </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Define and maintain software architecture for Mujin’s robotics platform, ensuring scalability and reliability across motion planning, real-time control, cloud integration, and user interfaces.</li>\n<li>Actively contribute to writing and reviewing production-level code in C++ and Python for critical components.</li>\n<li>Create and maintain detailed technical specifications and documentation for new features and system enhancements.</li>\n<li>Translate product requirements into actionable technical plans and lead execution from concept through deployment.</li>\n<li>Establish and enforce best practices for coding, testing, and documentation across all development teams.</li>\n<li>Collaborate with Product Management, Hardware Engineering, and Cloud teams to ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.</li>\n<li>Mentor senior developers and managers in technical problem-solving, architectural decisions, and career development.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Position Requirements:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Development, or related field.</li>\n<li>9+ years in software development, with at least 5+ years in leadership roles managing multiple teams.</li>\n<li>Proven experience designing and implementing software architecture for robotics, automation, or complex distributed systems.</li>\n<li>Strong proficiency in C++ and Python, with hands-on experience writing production-level code.</li>\n<li>Ability to create technical specifications and lead execution from concept to deployment.</li>\n<li>Deep understanding of CI/CD, real-time systems, and quality assurance at scale.</li>\n<li>Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, global environment and make data-driven decisions.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> <br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Preferred Qualifications:</span></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Exposure to cloud platforms, distributed systems, and UI/UX for complex applications.</li>\n<li>Strong communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders across technical and business domains.</li>\n<li>Experience scaling teams in high-growth technology companies.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><br><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">Physical Demands/ Work Environment:  </span></p>\n<p>The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a Team Member to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
