Senator’s Health Centre in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia is searching for a family physician to join this robust and rewarding collaborative practice. The successful candidate will join four other Family Physicians, one Nurse Practitioner, a Family Practice Nurse, one Social Worker, and a part-time Dietician.
This office is in a brand-new space which offers ocean views! This opportunity awaits the right candidate who is looking for the chance to join a busy and exciting collaborative practice.
Services:
Alternative Level of Care unit (12 beds) cardiac respiratory services diagnostic imaging (X-ray) emergency medicine family medicine maternal and child services medical unit (six beds) mental health and addiction services day program midwife clinic occupational therapy palliative care consultation service physiotherapy restorative care unit (12 beds) Responsibilities
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Examine patients and take their histories, order diagnostic tests and laboratory procedures;
delivery of comprehensive primary health care services to patients of all ages and stages of health or illness work with other providers in the clinic to provide cross coverage and same day access participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities utilize an electronic medical record (EMR) and record all relevant patient details in a provincially approved EMR which is accessible to all collaborating team members Advise patients on health care, health promotion, and disease prevention Consultation and referral to other medical practitioners Act as a patient’s advocate Prescribe and administer medications and treatments, inoculations and vaccinations Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases as per Nova Scotia Public Health requirements Expected Hours
