We are seeking a skilled and proactive Civil Engineering  Project Manager  in  San Francisco  to manage and drive complex infrastructure projects to successful completion. This role is designed for a proficient civil engineering professional who excels in both engineering and project management. As a Project Manager at KPFF, you will be responsible for the full project lifecycle, from initial planning through execution and closeout, ensuring projects meet client expectations, budget, and schedule requirements. Lead Full Project Lifecycle Management : Manage all phases of civil engineering projects, including planning, design, budgeting, permitting, construction oversight, and project closeout, while ensuring quality and adherence to timelines. Provide Technical Expertise and Oversight : Oversee advanced engineering design and calculations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards, building codes, and regulatory requirements. Direct teams in the preparation of complex drawings, specifications, and technical reports. Drive Client Relationships and Business Development : Act as the primary point of contact for clients, managing relationships and expectations. Identify new business opportunities, contribute to proposal development, and support business growth through networking and project success. Ensure Regulatory Compliance : Oversee the permitting process, coordinate with regulatory agencies, and ensure that all projects meet regulatory standards and industry best practices. Mentor and Lead Project Teams : Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and project team members, fostering professional growth and a collaborative project environment. Delegate tasks effectively while maintaining high standards of quality. Manage Project Schedules, Budgets, and Resources : Develop and maintain project schedules, track project budgets, and allocate resources efficiently to ensure project milestones are achieved within scope and cost parameters. Promote Innovation and Continuous Improvement : Stay informed of industry advancements and integrate new technologies and methods to enhance project efficiency and client satisfaction. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s degree preferred At least 10 years of relevant experience in civil engineering project management, with a focus on large-scale infrastructure projects Professional Engineer (PE) license required Strong proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) Demonstrated experience in project scheduling, budgeting, and resource management In-depth understanding of civil engineering principles, codes, and regulatory requirements Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships, with strong client-facing and business development skills Excellent leadership and mentoring skills, with experience managing multidisciplinary project teams Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, including technical reporting and presentations Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills Familiarity with sustainable design principles and certifications (e.g., LEED, Envision) is a plus Physical Demands and Work Environment Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working on a computer, reviewing plans, or conducting site visits. Capacity to move around project sites, climb ladders, and navigate uneven terrain. Occasionally lifting up to 15 pounds of equipment or materials. Compensation The base salary for this role is competitive, with a range of  $94,000 - $150,000 , determined by experience, education, and skills.
