Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) About the Role As a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) , you have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children and families by providing direct, high-quality behavioral support under the supervision of a qualified clinical supervisor in accordance with BACB standards and applicable Utah payer requirements. This position plays an important role in both client outcomes and the overall reputation of the company, as you are often one of the most consistent touchpoints in a client’s care journey. To Be Successful in This Role Recognize the level of trust families place in you and approach your work with professionalism, empathy, and consistency. Deliver direct Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services according to individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising BCBA or qualified clinical supervisor. Accurately collect and document session data in accordance with treatment plans, company standards, and Medicaid / payer documentation requirements. Complete session documentation within required timelines to support accurate billing, continuity of care, and compliance expectations. Participate in required supervision in accordance with BACB standards and payer requirements. Communicate effectively and professionally with supervising clinicians, families, and internal team members to ensure continuity of care. Maintain a high standard of ethical and professional conduct in alignment with BACB RBT Ethics Code requirements and Touchstone values. Be dependable with scheduling, punctuality, attendance, and communication, recognizing the impact inconsistent service can have on client progress and family trust. Respond appropriately to client behaviors using approved intervention strategies and within the scope of your training and role. Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA, agency policy, and applicable state and federal regulations. Be open to coaching, feedback, and ongoing skill development to improve clinical effectiveness and client outcomes. Meet Your Future Team This role works in close partnership with: Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) Clinical leadership Client families and caregivers Administrative support team Other interdisciplinary providers as appropriate As an RBT, you are a key part of the clinical team and directly contribute to treatment consistency, family trust, and client progress. If You Were the Registered Behavior Technician Now, Here Are Some of the Core Activities You Would Be Doing Provide direct 1:1 ABA therapy services to assigned clients in home, clinic, school, or community settings as determined by treatment needs. Implement behavior intervention plans, skill acquisition programs, and other treatment protocols as directed by the supervising clinician. Collect accurate session data and complete required session notes within established timelines. Participate in supervision sessions, team meetings, and clinical trainings as scheduled. Communicate observations, concerns, barriers, and client progress promptly and professionally with supervising clinicians. Support caregiver collaboration by modeling strategies, reinforcing treatment consistency, and communicating appropriately within role scope. Maintain active RBT credentialing and complete all ongoing competency and certification requirements. Follow agency safety protocols, crisis procedures, incident reporting expectations, and documentation standards. Protect client dignity while maintaining therapeutic boundaries and professionalism. Maintain a positive, engaged, and solutions-oriented mindset while supporting client progress. Minimum Qualifications Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification in good standing. High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in psychology, education, social work, human development, or related field preferred. Ability to pass Utah background screening / clearance requirements and any applicable payer credentialing requirements. Current CPR / First Aid certification if required by company policy. Reliable transportation and ability to travel between service locations if applicable. Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills. Ability to physically engage in play-based and behavior-support activities including sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and active client participation as clinically appropriate. Utah Compliance Considerations Timely documentation completion consistent with Medicaid and payer billing requirements. Participation in required supervision ratios, competency monitoring, and clinical oversight expectations. Compliance with Utah background screening, onboarding requirements, and agency credentialing expectations. Maintenance of active certification and payer eligibility requirements as applicable.
