View the comprehensive information about the competitive benefits package on our careers page then scroll down to <strong>CENTERS Benefits </strong>(click link to view).</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Responsibilities</strong></p>\n<p>Swim instruction for infant, preschool, school age and adult students in group and private lessons.</p>\n<p><strong> </strong></p>\n<p><strong>Specific Responsibilities</strong><strong>  </strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Have familiarity with American Red Cross Learn-to-Swim levels and other Red Cross water safety courses and know how to use course materials effectively</li>\n <li>Adapt teaching approaches to the age, experience and ability of participants so they can meet course objectives as set by JacksonvilleState University Campus Recreation Services</li>\n <li>Maintain order and discipline in classes to ensure a safe environment and promote a learning atmosphere</li>\n <li>Demonstrate skills required for class content and use teaching aids such as kickboards, diving rings, lifejackets, etc.</li>\n <li>Communicate regularly with participants to ensure they are aware of their progress</li>\n <li>Attend all mandatory full staff meetings and specific area meetings</li>\n <li>Check email and intranet on a regular basis</li>\n <li>Serve as a role model and maintain a professional attitude to all parents, children and co-workers on and off duty</li>\n <li>Other duties as required by supervisor</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p><strong>Minimum Requirements</strong>:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor Certification preferred but not required</li>\n <li>American Red Cross CPR</li>\n <li>Lifeguard Training and First Aid (preferred) Swimming Background</li>\n <li>Experience teaching swim lessons in a group setting</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Competencies:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Proficient in teaching skills to students at various skill levels.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Work Environment and Physical Demands</h2>\n<p><strong>Work Environment</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Pool</li>\n <li>Moderate to loud noise</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Demands</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Physical conditioning</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Other Duties </strong></p>\n<p>Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
