    "requisitionDescription": "<div><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong><u>Position Purpose</u></strong></p><p>Under general supervision, performs technical inspections of property to assure compliance with city codes, including but not limited to, animal control, parked vehicles, and rights-of-ways. &nbsp;Assists Police Officers with traffic crashes, traffic details, non-emergency calls, illegal parking, etc.</p><p><strong><u>Essential Functions and Basic Duties</u></strong></p><ul><li>Patrols assigned areas of the city looking for violations of City Code of Ordinances.</li><li>Performs in the control of all parking enforcement issues.</li><li>Addresses positive and negative issues in a professional manner on a one-on-one basis.</li><li>Conducts field investigations bringing about the details necessary to issue a citation or other action to achieve a satisfactory resolution.</li><li>Prepares and reviews visual aids and documents necessary to be presented before the appropriate regulatory agency.</li><li>Interacts with other agencies through communications and personal contact to gather the information necessary to complete a case.</li><li>Appears, testifies, and presents evidence related to city ordinance violations.</li><li>Attends training sessions, seminars, and college courses.</li><li>Prepares and presents community educational presentations, videos, and photographs.</li><li>Coordinates community events, including working with the state highway department. Assists officers with parades, escorts, concerts on the square and similar traffic assignments as needed.</li><li>Directs traffic at school crossings in the mornings and afternoons.</li><li>Performs related work as required.</li></ul><p><strong><u>Qualifications</u></strong></p><p><strong>Training and Experience</strong></p><ul><li>Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of an equivalent GED certificate.</li><li>One (1) year of related field of experience required.</li></ul><p><strong>Special Requirements</strong></p><ul><li>Must possess a valid driver&rsquo;s license.</li><li>Ability to successfully complete pre-employment background and drug screenings.</li></ul><p><strong>Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</strong></p><ul><li>Knowledge of rules and regulations of the Police Department and governing federal, state, policies and procedures, and local statues and ordinances.</li><li>Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of law enforcement agencies.</li><li>Knowledge of standard office practices and equipment.</li><li>Knowledge of the responsibilities of the Parking Enforcement Officer.</li><li>Knowledge of the procedures in Traffic Crash Reports, Citations, and written reports.</li><li>Skill in interpreting and applying legal restrictions with the public.</li><li>Skill in oral and written communications for administrative and technical purposes.</li><li>Skill in developing and maintaining effective interpersonal relations.</li><li>Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with supervisors, coworkers, and the general public.</li><li>Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and prepare clear and comprehensive written reports.</li></ul><p id=\"isPasted\"><strong><u><span style=\"font-size: 12px;\">An Equal Opportunity Employer</span></u></strong></p><p><span style=\"font-size: 12px;\">We do not discriminate on-the-basis of race, color, religion, national origin, sex, pregnancy, childbirth, pregnancy/childbirth related medical conditions age, or disability or any other protected class.
