The NC Programmer develops NC program code for machining parts and tools on numerically controlled machines and robots, making proper cutter selections for each part, taking into consideration such factors as material, feeds/speeds, types of cutters, and control system limitations. NC Programmer also selects program routines for the most efficient computer calculation of dimensional and machining requirements for each part as well as tests and modifies existing parts programs for engineering changes or program improvements. The NC Programming Engineer 4 position is considered an expert in relevant technologies, performing with limited oversite and direction from the NC Programming Team Lead.</span></p><p style='margin:0in;font-size:15px;font-family:\"Calibri\",sans-serif;'><br></p><p style='margin:0in;font-size:15px;font-family:\"Calibri\",sans-serif;' data-pasted=\"true\"><span style=\"font-family: georgia, serif; font-size: 14px;\"><strong><u>Principal Accountabilities</u></strong></span></p><ul type=\"disc\" data-pasted=\"true\"><li style=\"margin-left: 0in; font-family: georgia, serif;\">NC Programming responsibilities for composite part fabrication include (but are not limited to) the following activities:</li></ul><ul type=\"disc\"><ol start=\"1\" type=\"a\"><li style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Program rapid ply cutter (PRC) equipment to cut composite material in preparation of bonding operations.</li><li style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Program laser projection equipment to define manufacturing build sequence and location of composite ply components.</li><li style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Program 3-axis and 5-axis automatic tape laying equipment as well as trim and drill machine cells.</li></ol><li style=\"margin-left: 0in; font-family: georgia, serif;\">NC Programming responsibilities for metallic part fabrication include (but are not limited to) the following activities:<ol start=\"1\" type=\"a\" style=\"font-family: initial;\"><li style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Program 3-axis and 5-axis machine centers used for fabrication of production components, repair components, and tooling details.</li></ol></li><li style=\"margin-left: 0in; font-family: georgia, serif;\">Works under limited direction from NC Programming Team Lead and program leadership in a team environment.</li><li style=\"margin-left: 0in; font-family: georgia, serif;\">Skills should align with advanced knowledge related to NC programming development, process control, manufacturing support and related technical activities in a production environment, including:<ul type=\"disc\" style=\"font-family: initial;\"><li style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Subject matter expert related to manufacturing, fabrication &amp; assembly techniques, and related standards requirements with aerospace or similar industry experience.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">A senior experienced team member that develops production processes from engineering requirements and provides guidance to less experienced team members.</li><li style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Supports introduction of new technology in line with the assigned Program requirements.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Ensures adherence to all applicable business &amp; quality processes and procedures such as FAA, DoD, Export Control, ITAR, Nadcap, AS9100 and customer contractual requirements.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"font-family: georgia, serif;\">Has advanced knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma tools to predict and improve process yield.
