The Community Safety Liaison will assist in providing targeted service-planning and delivery supports to Indigenous agencies and communities, as well as assisting non-Indigenous agencies seeking to provide culturally appropriate services to Indigenous women and Girls who are at risk and survivors of gang related activity.</p>\n<p><br>The Community Safety Liaison will have a thorough understanding of the issues that Indigenous women are facing in their lives and how human trafficking and gang related activities impacts Indigenous women and will assist in the development of unique services that are tailored to meet their needs.</p>\n<p><br></p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt; font-weight: bold\">QUALIFICATIONS:</span></p>\n<p><br></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Post-secondary diploma/degree in Social Sciences, Indigenous Studies, Women’s Studies with a minimum five (5) years’ work experience in community service delivery in a project coordination role.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Demonstrated experience providing services to Indigenous families and/or communities.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Strong awareness of issues affecting Indigenous women and awareness of Community resources provincially.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Strong communicator - excellent written, oral, and facilitation skills.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Knowledge of and relationships with other service agencies, ability to network and create/maintain these relationships.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Experience coordinating workshops and/or conferences.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Must be dependable, able to follow instructions, respond to management direction and be able to improve performance through management feedback.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Capacity to solve problems and to see different perspectives.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Ability to plan, organize and manage time effectively.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Highly motivated individual with the ability to work with minimal supervision.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Excellent organizational and communication skills and an ability to follow through on assigned duties independently with strict deadlines.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Must be trained in trauma informed care.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Knowledge of Indigenous Culture, Traditions, and Indigenous Community and a genuine respect and understanding of it to comfortably teach and use it with our Community Members.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Preference will be given to candidates with experiential knowledge in the area of Human Trafficking and/or sexual exploitation, as well as gang related issues.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Knowledge of Not-For Profit Organizations.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Proficient working knowledge of MS Office Software, internet, and general office equipment.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Ability to travel.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Reliable vehicle, appropriate vehicle insurance coverage and valid Ontario “G” class driver’s license.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Current, valid vulnerable sector criminal records check. Valid 1st Aid/CPR.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">A cellular phone and internet access is required within this position.</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"font-size: 12pt\">Must be willing and able to work a flexible working from home arrangement if required. This may include a combination of virtual remote work in your home and in office arrangements.
