    "description": "<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p><strong>Essential Functions</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Assists with the completion of the assessment process of patients including but not limited to the following: height/weight, vital signs, and current medications for infoscriber.</li>\n <li>Administers injections, observing the Six Rights of medication administration</li>\n <li>Communicates effectively with the physician/CRNP regarding the consumer’s physical and mental condition</li>\n <li>Interfaces with the multi-disciplinary team</li>\n <li>Reports laboratory results to the physician/CRNP</li>\n <li>Responds to patient phone calls in a timely and appropriate manner</li>\n <li>Calls in prescriptions as directed by authorized prescribers</li>\n <li>Facilitate PA’s for prescriptions</li>\n <li>Updates patient medical records as needed</li>\n <li>May assist in scheduling appointments</li>\n <li>Assists in arranging hospital admissions and laboratory services</li>\n <li>May assist collecting and preparing laboratory specimens</li>\n <li>May assist instructing patients about medication and special diets</li>\n <li>Authorizes prescription refills as directed</li>\n <li>Draws blood as directed</li>\n <li>Provides emergency care as needed (CPR, MindSet, PRN medications), according to the AltaPointe Policy & Procedures</li>\n <li>Demonstrates the ability to recognize the elements of a crisis state and knows how to deescalate or resolve the situation</li>\n <li>Meets AltaPointe productivity standards</li>\n <li>Effectively demonstrates the application of MA competencies</li>\n <li>Adheres to professional code of ethics</li>\n <li>Seeks clinical supervision and consultation needs</li>\n <li>Accepts and employs suggestions for improvement</li>\n <li>Actively works to enhance clinical skills</li>\n <li>Documents in a timely fashion per AltaPointe policy</li>\n <li>Documentation shows that forms, notes, logs, and other applicable written information are completed promptly, accurately and updated when appropriate</li>\n <li>Documents legibly</li>\n <li>Treats consumers with care, dignity and compassion</li>\n <li>Respects consumer’s privacy and confidentiality</li>\n <li>Is pleasant and cooperative with others</li>\n <li>Assists consumers and visitors as needed</li>\n <li>Personal values don’t inhibit ability to relate and care for others</li>\n <li>Is sensitive to the consumer’s needs, expectations and individual differences</li>\n <li>Is gentle and calm to consumers and families</li>\n <li>Actively participates in Performance Improvement activities</li>\n <li>Actively participates in AltaPointe committees as required</li>\n <li>Completes assigned tasks in a timely manner</li>\n <li>Accesses appropriate community resources according to consumer needs</li>\n <li>Follows AltaPointe Policy & Procedures</li>\n <li>Maintains current State license and requirements for renewals (i.e. CEU’s), and attends to required in-services and workshops</li>\n <li>Other duties as assigned</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>There is frequent standing while getting files, paperwork, and handing out medication.</li>\n <li>Sitting is frequent by nature and up to 5-10 minutes; however, extended sitting could be up to 1.5 to 3 hours for documentation.</li>\n <li>Squatting and/or lunging frequently to stock supplies and retrieve needed material from file cabinets and book shelves.</li>\n <li>Fine manipulation for writing, handling paperwork, and dispensing medications to consumers.</li>\n <li>Pushing and/or pulling force up to 1-5 pounds force, horizontally, to open file cabinets and place binders on book shelves.</li>\n <li>Lifting various ranges from the floor to overhead with weights up to 1-5 pounds frequently.</li>\n <li>Any other duties as assigned by supervisor</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>Possesses and maintains current certification for a <strong>Certified Clinical Medical Assistant.</strong> Must have highly professional verbal and written communication skills, withstand continual deadlines, and concentrate and maintain accuracy in spite of frequent interruptions. </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Knowledge in topics, outlined below, to be attained within (6) six months of employment:</p>\n<ul>\n <li>General knowledge of nursing care</li>\n <li>General knowledge of psychiatric disorders </li>\n <li>Knowledge of medical terminology </li>\n <li>Familiarity of pharmacology </li>\n <li>Demonstration of safe medication administration practices including IM injection</li>\n <li>Knowledge of crisis intervention </li>\n <li>Knowledge of utilizing electronic health record</li>\n <li>Knowledge of cultural diversity </li>\n <li>Knowledge of Trauma Informed Care Principles</li>\n <li>Basic clerical skills</li>\n <li>Use of standard office equipment including computers, photocopy and facsimile machines. </li>\n <li>Knowledge of administration of medical and behavioral health screening tools</li>\n</ul>",
