    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><span><strong><u>Wind Deputy Site Manager (Wake Wind Energy Center)</u></strong></span></p>\n<p><strong>JOB SUMMARY:</strong></p>\n<p>This position is responsible for assisting in managing and overseeing the daily operations of Wake Wind Facility; a 257.3 MW wind facility, owned by Southern Company’s subsidiary Southern Power, located in Floyd County, Texas. The wind farm is equipped with 150 GE wind turbines rated at 1.715 MW each. This candidate will lead a small team of technicians and third-party wind contractors and will work to establish new operating procedures and will work closely with the rest of Southern Power to communicate and manage the site operations.</p>\n<p><strong>JOB REQUIREMENTS:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in a related field strongly preferred&nbsp;</li>\n <li>5 – 7 years of relevant experience, preferably in wind energy&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software and database applications&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Success in instilling a culture of Safety Excellence and foundations of Human Performance&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Ability to climb turbine towers up to 110 meters in height approximately 5-10 times per week, or as needed&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Understand and comply with the ANSI Fall Protection Standards&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Ability to work in adverse weather conditions</li>\n <li>Ability to drive in extreme weather conditions, fog, snow, mud, off-road driving skills&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Ability to understand and communicate safety precautions when necessary &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Due to the nature of our work and weight restrictions on our equipment, a candidate must weigh and maintain their body weight at or below 270 pounds.</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Ensure that on-site activities at each facility are conducted in a safety-conscious manner&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Manage all operations and maintenance activities for balance-of-plant (BOP) assets&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Oversee the facilities’ operations and maintenance-related contracts&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Manage any warranties as applicable&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Facilitate daily, weekly, monthly, and annual reporting in accordance with operational, safety, regulatory, and environmental performance requirements&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Monitor each facility’s performance in terms of comparison with expected results and key performance indicators&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Engage appropriate internal and external resources as performance issues may require&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Work closely with equipment suppliers and service entities as needed&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Monitor generating equipment for proper function, service, and repairs&nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Ensure that quality electronic communication is established and maintained at each facility&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Ensure the adoption and adherence to best practices&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Monitor contractor performance and ensure quality and adherence to the highest standards in work practices&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Ensure that all safety training is performed on schedule, as well as request additional training as it applies to your day-to-day tasks</li>\n <li>Ensure compliance with site environmental regulations pertaining to hazardous waste, oil spill prevention, avian studies, wildlife conservation, etc.&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Additional duties as required &nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>BEHAVIORAL ATTRIBUTES:</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrate Southern Company Values&nbsp; \n  <ul>\n   <li>Safety First, Intentional Inclusion, Act with Integrity, and Superior Performance&nbsp;</li>\n  </ul></li>\n <li>Instill a culture of Safety with a personal commitment to Safety Excellence and Human Performance&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Cooperative behavior when dealing with landowners, 3<sup>rd</sup> party contractors and Southern assistance teams which include engineers, safety, environmental, asset management, Utility Company and local residence</li>\n <li>Ability to quickly understand the basics of a variety of subjects relating to wind and solar energy including resource studies, environmental and cultural studies, transmission issues, public relations, public policy, sales, and civil and electrical engineering&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Strong interpersonal and organizational skills&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Strong analytical and quantitative skills - High attention to detail and ability to multi-task&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Ability to be self-motivated and perform job tasks in a relatively unstructured environment with little supervision&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Ability to travel as needed&nbsp;</li>\n <li>Strong written and verbal communication skills</li>\n</ul>\n<p><strong>ADDITIONAL DETAILS&nbsp;</strong></p>\n<ul>\n <li>Some relocation assistance may be available.&nbsp;</li>\n</ul>",
