Rather, they cover the broad responsibilities of the position.</em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The College of Osteopathic Medicine invites applications for a clinical faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>The successful candidate will need to have earned a D.O. or M.D. degree and completed residency. The position requires teaching using a comprehensive range of didactic methods—including lectures, labs, ultrasound, and procedures—across a full broad spectrum of system topics, learner mentorship, precepting, exam proctoring, fostering interdisciplinary research, and participating in academic and service responsibilities at the College and University. Preference will be given to applicants with teaching experience.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>This is an excellent opportunity to work with, educate, and mentor our future osteopathic physicians on our Vallejo campus, located in the beautiful Bay Area.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<p> </p>\n<p><em>Join the Touro University California team and enjoy the benefits our employees love—click the link below to learn more!</em></p>\n<p> </p>\n<p>https://touro.box.com/Benefits At A Glance</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Development and delivery of a portion of the curriculum, including exam item writing and proctoring </li>\n <li>Mentorship of Touro University osteopathic medical students </li>\n <li>Provide service on College and University committees </li>\n <li>Attend and participate in departmental meetings </li>\n <li>Perform other faculty duties as appropriate and determined by the department chair </li>\n <li>Contribute to new knowledge through research activities, presentations, publications, potentially obtaining grants and/or contracts, clinical trials and other scholarly work </li>\n <li>Provide reports and other documents as requested by department chairs </li>\n <li>Practice at a Touro University California affiliated practice site in compliance with the candidate’s medical license and the job description of the site</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES</strong> (<em>if applicable</em>): should reflect who the employee is supervising and what the expectations are.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>None</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>QUALIFICATION(S): is the Education, Training and/or related experience needed by the person to perform the job.</p>\n<p> </p>\n<ul>\n <li>D.O. or M.D. degree </li>\n <li>Unrestricted medical licensure (or eligibility for licensure) in the state of California </li>\n <li>Board certification (or eligibility of certification) </li>\n <li>Clinical practice experience </li>\n <li>Experience in medical education (at the undergraduate or graduate medical education level) preferred </li>\n <li>Research experience, or interest, preferred </li>\n <li>Demonstrated effective organizational skills </li>\n <li>Excellent interpersonal relationship and communication skills </li>\n <li>Active participation in professional societies in the local, state and national levels, including the American Osteopathic Association and its relevant State Association. </li>\n <li>Personal integrity</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<p><strong>THE COLLEGE OF OSTEOPATHIC MEDICINE</strong></p>\n<p>Touro University California is an independent graduate institution located about 40 miles north of San Francisco on the northeast side of SF Bay. In addition to the College of Osteopathic Medicine, Touro University’s campus includes the College of Pharmacy, and the College of Education and Health Sciences, which includes graduate-level programs in education, nursing, Physician Assistant, and Masters in Public Health.
