Join us to do the best work of your career as a <strong>Senior</strong> <strong>Building Performance Engineer</strong> (Hybrid Role) in our growing Building Performance Group in Boston, MA, or in one of Vanderweil&rsquo;s offices in New York, NY; Newark, NJ; Philadelphia, PA; Alexandria, VA; Atlanta, GA; or Miami, FL.<br>&nbsp;<br>As a <strong>Senior</strong> <strong>Building Performance Engineer</strong>, you will proactively collaborate with our project managers and engineers internally, as well as externally with our owner, design, and construction partners, to provide the analyses and insights that help clients solve complex challenges.</p><p style=\"line-height: 1;\"><strong><u>Some of your responsibilities will include the following:&nbsp;</u></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Propose holistic energy, water, and carbon reduction opportunities early in the design process, and back those ideas up with rigorous analysis and thoughtful data visualizations to clearly communicate complex concepts.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Evaluate architectural and MEP system design to optimize performance and track progress toward project goals.</li><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Lead junior engineers<a id=\"_anchor_1\" href=\"#_msocom_1\" language=\"JavaScript\" name=\"_msoanchor_1\" target=\"_blank\">[CS1]</a>&nbsp; to create complex energy savings calculations and technical client-facing reports. Educate, delegate, and provide quality control for their analysis efforts.</li><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Research and synthesize applicable energy codes &amp; policies. Compare compliance paths to advise owners and design teams and minimize risks to projects.</li><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Perform life-cycle cost analyses, solar photovoltaic feasibility analyses, and water reduction studies.</li></ul><p style=\"line-height: 1;\"><strong><u>Essential Skills &amp; Requirements:</u></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">7-15 years of building performance analysis or design engineering in a consulting environment.</li><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Bachelor&rsquo;s or master&rsquo;s degree in mechanical engineering, energy systems, or architectural engineering.</li><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Experience interfacing with internal and external clients.</li></ul><p style=\"line-height: 1;\"><strong><u>Additional skills considered a plus:</u></strong></p><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\"><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Experience with eQuest, IES, EnergyPlus, or similar, and the ability to generate spreadsheet energy calculations.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Holds a PE registration.&nbsp;</li><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">LEED AP BD+C, BEMP, CPHC, and/or CEM Credential</li><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Experience mentoring, training, or overseeing work of less experienced engineers</li><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">Field experience including performing field surveys for energy audits, observation of construction progress, commissioning, and/or operating a facility.</li><li style=\"line-height: 1;\">HVAC design experience</li></ul><p style=\"line-height: 1;\"><strong><u>Our Flexible &amp; Hybrid Work Culture:</u></strong></p><p style=\"line-height: 1;\">We know that work/life integration is important to our employees.
