    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p><br>Black Box Network Services, the global leader in communication system integration, is looking for several Technician - Network with a proven track record in: • Racking and stacking of network devices • Cable patching • Physical layer troubleshooting • Equipment disposal activities • Installing and troubleshooting Cisco and Avaya IP phones.</p><p>This position will support facilities management, site security and project engagement with a commitment and desire to satisfy our customer by completing all work at the highest level, always striving for perfection. The candidate must be motivated and self-driven for success.</p><p>Position Details:</p><p>· &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Hourly salary based upon the level of experience &amp; skill-set</p><p>· &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Full time permanent hire possibility after 6 months</p><p>· &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Standard work hours: Multiple shifts to support 24/7 coverage</p><p>· &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Client Addendum Applies; will provide at the time of offer acceptance</p><p>Responsibilities:</p><p>· &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; The patching cabling between network equipment and customer’s network</p><p>· &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; The installation of power cables from equipment to power supply in rack/cabinet/closet</p><p>· &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; The installation, troubleshooting and de-installing network equipment</p><p>o &nbsp; Install/swap out devices (e.g., phone, computers, cables, boards, edge routers, switches and etc.)</p><p>o &nbsp; Install, troubleshoot, and de-install Network General remote Sniffers</p><p>· &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Complete all hard and complex Move, Add Change (MAC) requests within the defined service levels</p><p>· &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Act as interface between customer’s associates and management</p><p>· &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Provide hardware break-fix services for network infrastructure</p><p>· &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Perform onsite call-through, data, voice, website and security testing</p><p>· &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Perform back-up testing to ensure all systems are connected to the customer’s network as directed</p><p>· &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Support carrier testing of circuits</p><p>· &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Assist with facilities efforts</p><p>o &nbsp; Power and uninterruptable power supply (UPS) restoral</p><p>o &nbsp; Water problems,</p><p>o &nbsp; Emergency cooling restoration,</p><p>o &nbsp; Fire suppression exercises, restoration, and post fire events</p><p>· &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Support inventory management activities</p><p>o &nbsp; Receiving inventory</p><p>o &nbsp; Tagging of assets</p><p>o &nbsp; Tracking spares (crash kits)</p><p>o &nbsp; Ordering inventory</p><p>o &nbsp; Updating inventory records</p><p>o &nbsp; Prepare and return damaged equipment</p><p>· &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Act as an interface, as needed, between associates at the applicable location and centralized project / operations / MAC management</p><p>Requirements:</p><p>· &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Must be proficient in utilizing technical tools such as Sniffers, BERT testers, cable testers, and fiber testers.</p><p>· &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Requires experience in working in communications closets</p><p>o &nbsp; Must be able to perform rack and stack activities</p><p>o &nbsp; Must be able to safely lift heavy objects</p><p>· &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Must understand cable patching processes and procedures</p><p>· &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Must be familiar with 66 Block and 110 Block cross connect procedures</p><p>· &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Must have a basic knowledge of data communications networking.</p><p>o &nbsp; Must be able to assist in troubleshooting issues</p><p>o &nbsp; Must understand network terminology</p><p>· &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Must be familiar with IP phone</p><p>o &nbsp; Must be able to program Cisco phones</p><p>o &nbsp; Must be able to install Avaya phones</p><p>o &nbsp; Must be able to troubleshoot Avaya and Cisco phones</p><p>· &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Requires good interpersonal communications skills</p><p>o &nbsp; Must be able to explain technical issues in a way the customer will understand an issue</p><p>o &nbsp; Must be able to interpret a customer’s issue in a way that will allow technician to facilitate a resolution</p><p>Experience and Education:</p><p>· &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; 5 years of experience in data communications</p><p>· &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Must have a basic knowledge of Cisco Phones, switches and routers</p><p>· &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Must have a basic knowledge of local and wide area networking.</p><p>· &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; High school diploma or equivalent required</p><p>About Us:</p><p>Black Box is a leading technology solutions provider.
