Job Summary
Inter-Con is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented attorney to join the Legal Department as Junior Counsel – Litigation. This role will support the management of litigation and litigation-adjacent matters affecting the organization, working closely with senior attorneys, internal stakeholders, and outside counsel. The ideal candidate will possess strong legal research and writing skills, sound judgment, and a practical, solutions-oriented approach to resolving legal issues.
Primary Responsibilities
Responsibilities include supporting litigation activities and assisting with pre-litigation, administrative, and litigation matters under the supervision of senior attorneys. This position will require the exercise of judgment and discretion in the following Primary responsibilities:
Assist with management of various aspects of Inter-Con’s litigation matters, including employment matters, traditional labor matters, regulatory inquiries, administrative claims, and internal investigations;
Support the development and implementation of litigation strategies aligned with the company’s business and risk management objectives;
Coordinate with outside counsel regarding case updates, discovery, deadlines, and litigation strategy;
Provide legal research and practical guidance to internal stakeholders on litigation risks, dispute resolution strategies, and compliance matters;
Support law & motion and discovery processes, including drafting motions, briefs, correspondence, and other pleadings, as well as assisting with document collection, ESI, discovery responses, witness interviews, and deposition preparation;
Assist with preparation for appearances, hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and trials as necessary;
Participate in evaluation of claims and support settlement negotiations and resolution efforts when appropriate;
Monitor legal developments, legislation, and case law trends impacting the organization and assist with policy and process improvements to reduce litigation risk;
Assist with contract-related projects as needed, including contract review, legal research, and responses to requests for proposals;
Contribute to legal department projects, compliance initiatives, and administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials
Active license in good standing to practice law in California
Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant litigation experience
Experience with employment and traditional labor matters
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills;
Ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment;
Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with a practical, business-oriented mindset;
Demonstrated initiative, professionalism, sound judgment, and integrity;
Ability to collaborate effectively with internal business partners and outside counsel;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, Teams, and Lexis Nexis; experience with SharePoint, Salesforce, Legal Files, Paycom and/or ADP is preferred.

This role will support the management of litigation and litigation-adjacent matters affecting the organization, working closely with senior attorneys, internal stakeholders, and outside counsel. The ideal candidate will possess strong legal research and writing skills, sound judgment, and a practical, solutions-oriented approach to resolving legal issues.\\r\\n\\r\\nPrimary Responsibilities\\r\\n\\r\\nResponsibilities include supporting litigation activities and assisting with pre-litigation, administrative, and litigation matters under the supervision of senior attorneys. This position will require the exercise of judgment and discretion in the following Primary responsibilities:\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\tAssist with management of various aspects of Inter-Con’s litigation matters, including employment matters, traditional labor matters, regulatory inquiries, administrative claims, and internal investigations;\\r\\n\\tSupport the development and implementation of litigation strategies aligned with the company’s business and risk management objectives;\\r\\n\\tCoordinate with outside counsel regarding case updates, discovery, deadlines, and litigation strategy;\\r\\n\\tProvide legal research and practical guidance to internal stakeholders on litigation risks, dispute resolution strategies, and compliance matters;\\r\\n\\tSupport law & motion and discovery processes, including drafting motions, briefs, correspondence, and other pleadings, as well as assisting with document collection, ESI, discovery responses, witness interviews, and deposition preparation;\\r\\n\\tAssist with preparation for appearances, hearings, arbitrations, mediations, and trials as necessary;\\r\\n\\tParticipate in evaluation of claims and support settlement negotiations and resolution efforts when appropriate;\\r\\n\\tMonitor legal developments, legislation, and case law trends impacting the organization and assist with policy and process improvements to reduce litigation risk;\\r\\n\\tAssist with contract-related projects as needed, including contract review, legal research, and responses to requests for proposals;\\r\\n\\tContribute to legal department projects, compliance initiatives, and administrative tasks as needed.\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\nQualifications\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\n\\tJuris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school with strong academic credentials\\r\\n\\tActive license in good standing to practice law in California\\r\\n\\tMinimum of 3-5 years of relevant litigation experience\\r\\n\\tExperience with employment and traditional labor matters\\r\\n\\tStrong legal research, writing, and analytical skills;\\r\\n\\tAbility to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment;\\r\\n\\tStrong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills with a practical, business-oriented mindset;\\r\\n\\tDemonstrated initiative, professionalism, sound judgment, and integrity;\\r\\n\\tAbility to collaborate effectively with internal business partners and outside counsel;\\r\\n\\tProficiency in Microsoft Office programs, Teams, and Lexis Nexis; experience with SharePoint, Salesforce, Legal Files, Paycom and/or ADP is preferred.\\r\\n\\r\\n\\r\\nInter-Con Security Systems, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer - Disability/Veteran.\\r\\n\",\"employmentType\":\"OTHER\",\"hiringOrganization\":{\"@type\":\"Organization\",\"name\":\"INTER-CON SECURITY SYSTEMS INC\",\"logo\":\"https://www.paycomonline.net/v4/ats/web.php/application/style/logo?clientkey=9CC558E6DB931F02AA88A617AB1856CD\"},\"jobLocation\":{\"@type\":\"Place\",\"address\":{\"streetAddress\":\"210 S De Lacey Ave\",\"addressLocality\":\"Pasadena\",\"addressRegion\":\"CA\",\"postalCode\":91105,\"addressCountry\":\"USA\"}},\"industry\":\"Corporate\",\"validThrough\":\"2026-07-31\"}",
