EO/AA</i></p>\n<p>This position has the responsibility of performing routine electrocardiography procedures throughout the hospital. The incumbent will also provide Holter Monitor hook-ups as needed for patients. This position provides direct patient care and may be required to access and administer medications within their scope of practice and according to state law.</p>\n<p>Corporate Overview: The University of Utah is a Level 1 Trauma Center and is nationally ranked and recognized for our academic research, quality standards and overall patient experience. Our five hospitals and eleven clinics provide excellence in our comprehensive services, medical advancement, and overall patient outcomes.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Completes electrocardiograph readings on patients as requested by various departments within the hospital.</li>\n <li>Completes lead placement, calibration and operation of a Holter Monitor.</li>\n <li>Operates sophisticated computerized data acquisition equipment used in obtaining electrocardiograms of patients undergoing various stress procedures.</li>\n <li>Performs medical procedures involving treadmill and bicycle exercise tolerance tests, Thallium, Muga, and oxygen consumption stress tests.</li>\n <li>Assists the stress test proctor in monitoring patients throughout the course of the procedure.</li>\n <li>Participates in the training of other cardiac technicians on special procedures.</li>\n <li>Maintains accurate logs of patient information regarding electrocardiograph readings, Holter requests and cardiac studies.</li>\n <li>Prepares and processes paperwork from electrocardiograph readings for the physician's review.</li>\n <li>Prepares and processes billing paperwork, and assists in maintaining filing cards and patient folders.</li>\n <li>Performs minor maintenance and cleaning of equipment, and restocks supplies.</li>\n</ul>\n<h3>Knowledge / Skills / Abilities</h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrated potential ability to perform the essential functions as outlined above.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to provide care to the population served.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of life span growth and development.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to assess data regarding the patient's status.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to provide care as described in the department's policies and procedures manual.</li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n <li>Demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills.</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<h3>Qualifications</h3>\n<h4>Required</h4>\n<ul>\n <li>This is an entry level position.</li>\n</ul>\n<h3>Licenses Required</h3>\n<ul>\n <li>Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system.
