    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>The Underwriter II will be responsible for the underwriting and servicing of renewal business for an assigned group of agencies in the Midwest. Maintains effective relationships with agency contacts to ensure accurate information is gathered for risk evaluation and provides consultation on company products and coverage capabilities that positively impact risk selection. Enables profitable growth with assigned agencies including periodic profitability reviews and the implementation of profit improvement actions. Must always maintain a professional demeanor. Maintains a solid understanding of AmTrust’s mission, vision, and values. Upholds the standards of the AmTrust organization.</p>\n<h2>Responsibilities</h2>\n<p> </p>\n<p>· Quickly and effectively make underwriting decisions based on review and analysis. Make sure policy characteristics are based on company pricing and underwriting guidelines. Collaborate closely with other team members, sales and management as needed to assess risks and retain or write new business.</p>\n<p>· Develop and maintain strong agency relationships and work closely with Underwriters, Sales, and Management to implement agency plans and share accountability in meeting territory goals.</p>\n<p>· Provide support and coaching to the underwriting team and provide leadership on multiple products available to the team in order to quickly and effectively make risk decisions.</p>\n<p>· Occasionally participate in industry events and travel to meet with agencies to support relationships as needed.</p>\n<p>· Maintain strong product line and industry expertise and stay abreast of changes in markets.</p>\n<p>· Other tasks, responsibilities and projects as needed.</p>\n<p>· Keeps current with market trends and demands.</p>\n<p>· Performs other functionally related duties as assigned.</p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<p>Bachelor’s degree required</p>\n<ul>\n <li>3+ years of experience in a Commercial Lines multiline underwriting role</li>\n <li>Must have workers compensation underwriting expertise</li>\n <li>Knowledge of property and casualty underwriting procedures and discipline</li>\n <li> Knowledge of commercial lines products, coverages and pricing practices</li>\n <li> Strong analytical ability and organizational skills.</li>\n <li> Excellent written and verbal communication skills</li>\n</ul>\n<p>#LI-EF1</p>\n<p>#LI-HYRBID</p>\n<h2>What We Offer</h2>\n<p>AmTrust Financial Services offers a competitive compensation package and excellent career advancement opportunities.
