The position provides leadership for maintenance, reliability, capital projects, utilities, safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong><u>Essential Duties and Responsibilities:</u></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Hire, train, and manage maintenance staff to maintain the plant functions.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Develop plans to improve plant performance with the cooperation of the plant management team.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Ensure sanitation, safety, GMP&rsquo;s (Good Manufacturing Practices) and quality policies and procedures are followed.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Counsel and discipline employees as appropriate.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Participate as a member of the plant safety committee.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Establish and maintain departmental budget within established guidelines.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Establish and maintain capital budget within established guidelines.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Evaluate and prepare expense authorizations for projects and present to Plant Manager for submittal.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Establish and implement preventative maintenance system.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Identify appropriate vendor network.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Assist Safety Manager with accident investigations as requested.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Communicate and respond to issues raised by Quality Assurance Manager.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Communicate and respond to issues raised by production staff.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Coordinate equipment availability request with Plant Manager for maintenance functions.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Interface with plant management staff on daily operational issues.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Other duties as assigned.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong><u>Performance Metrics:</u></strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">&nbsp;&bull; Equipment Uptime<br>&nbsp;&bull; PM Completion Rate<br>&nbsp;&bull; Downtime Reduction<br>&nbsp;&bull; OEE Improvement<br>&nbsp;&bull; Budget Performance</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong><u>Qualifications/Requirements:</u></strong></p><div style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;margin-left: 0in;\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">5-7 years of experience in maintenance management or equivalent combination of education and experience.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Must possess solid analytical skills and mechanical aptitude.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Computer literacy applied to control and data management.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Strong interpersonal skills requiring the ability to resolve conflicting interests and obtain cooperation.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Must be able to communicate verbally, understand, and write in the English language.</li></ul></div><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong><u>Physical Requirements:</u></strong></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\">While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit, stand, or walk for prolonged periods of time.
