All work is carried out in accordance with established guidelines and standards. </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">This position is unionized with OPSEU, Local 226. </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\"> </span></p>\n<p><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">RESPONSIBILITIES:</span> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Perform work in compliance with the local and provincial codes and bylaws and the Building Code pertaining to boilers and HVAC systems including BAS, heating, cooling and ventilation equipment within specified control ranges </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Carry out routine inspections, repairs, and maintenance to HVAC equipment and systems throughout the Hospital and Grounds as assigned </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Regularly inspect, test, and repair as required: fire alarms, bed maintenance, magnetic door locks and alarms, paging systems, call bell systems, safety equipment, HVAC units, building equipment, kitchen equipment, and other machinery </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Maintain, monitor, and replace medical gas systems and medical gas tanks </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Steam and gas fitting </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Installation/commissioning of new equipment </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Decommission/disconnect of old equipment </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Assist with shutdowns during regular and project work </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Perform daily, preventive, and emergency maintenance on building systems </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Manage an inventory of critical and day-to-day 0)\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold\">QUALIFICATIONS:</span> </span></p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Trade Certification through the apprenticeship process and recognized by the Ontario College of Trades </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Minimum three years general maintenance experience in a health care or industrial setting with boilers, large refrigeration equipment, pneumatic, electric and electric/ pneumatic control systems, generating equipment and heating and air conditioning systems </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Proven skills and experience related to the care and repair to building systems which include and is not limited to the following: HVAC systems, boiler maintenance, preventive/general maintenance of equipment and buildings, facility properties, general plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall/plaster and painting. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, and service manuals. </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Be knowledgeable with WHMIS and the Occupational Health and Safety Act </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Proven work history with regards to being punctual, dependable, working with minimal supervision, and a team player in an ever-changing environment. </span></li>\n</ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Ability to understand how the Hospitals various systems and sub systems operate, how they are interlocked for operation and safety, how changes made will affect both up-stream and down-stream conditions </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Must possess/maintain a current valid driver’s license and certificate of qualification </span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Satisfactory performance and attendance required</span></li>\n<li><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0)\">Satisfactory
