    "description": "<h2>Overview</h2>\n<p>We are seeking a forward-deployed <strong>Palantir Engineer </strong>to work directly with our clients to solve complex, real-world data challenges using modern data platforms. This is a highly hands-on, mission-facing role where you will operate at the intersection of data engineering, application development, and client engagement. Your job will be to turn ambiguous problems into production-ready solutions. </p>\n<h2>Contributions</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Embed directly with client teams to understand mission needs and translate them into working data products, pipelines, and workflows. </li>\n <li>Design and build solutions within Palantir platforms, including data pipelines, ontologies, and user-facing applications. </li>\n <li>Work across the full data lifecycle from ingestion, transformation, modeling, and through delivery, ensuring solutions are scalable and maintainable. </li>\n <li>Rapidly prototype and iterate on solutions, incorporating user feedback to deliver high-impact outcomes quickly. </li>\n <li>Develop production-quality code (Python, SQL, or similar) to support data pipelines, integrations, and application logic. </li>\n <li>Integrate Palantir platforms with external systems, APIs, and cloud-native services as needed. </li>\n <li>Leverage platform capabilities (Code Repositories, Pipelines, Ontology, Workshop, etc.) to build scalable, maintainable solutions. </li>\n <li>Partner with Data Engineers, Architects, and mission stakeholders to align technical solutions with mission objectives. </li>\n <li>Troubleshoot and resolve issues in live environments, ensuring reliability and performance of deployed solutions. </li>\n <li>Communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex concepts into actionable insights. </li>\n <li>Take ownership of problems end-to-end, operating effectively in fast-moving, ambiguous environments. </li>\n <li>You will contribute to the growth of our AI & Data Exploitation Practice! </li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>Qualifications</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>Ability to hold a position of public trust. </li>\n <li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field. </li>\n <li>8+ years of total experience. </li>\n <li>3-5 years of experience in software engineering, data engineering, or applied data systems. </li>\n <li>Strong programming skills in Python and SQL. </li>\n <li>Experience building data pipelines, data models, and integrations in modern data environments. </li>\n <li>Experience with Palantir Foundry, Gotham, or similar platforms.</li>\n <li>Experience with Databricks.</li>\n <li>Experience working with APIs, distributed systems, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). </li>\n <li>Ability to translate loosely defined problems into structured, implementable solutions. </li>\n <li>Strong problem-solving skills and comfort working in client-facing, high-ownership environments. </li>\n <li>Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and mission teams. </li>\n <li>Experience in forward-deployed or client-embedded engineering roles preferred. </li>\n <li>Exposure to analytics, AI/ML workflows, or operational data systems preferred.</li>\n <li>Experience in federal or regulated environments preferred.</li>\n</ul>\n<p> </p>\n<h2>About <strong>steampunk</strong></h2>\n<p> </p>\n<p>Steampunk relies on several factors to determine salary, including but not limited to geographic location, contractual requirements, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience. The projected compensation range for this position is $125,000 to $165,000.  The estimate displayed represents a typical annual salary range for this position.
