    "ExternalDescriptionStr": "<p>The Senior HVAC Technician is under the supervision of the HVAC Supervisor performing inspections, servicing, and repairing heating, cooling, ventilating and refrigeration equipment.</p><p>Primary Duties and Responsibilities</p><p>-Install, inspect, troubleshoot and repair commercial HVAC equipment to include the following: roof top units, chillers, cooling towers, central air handling equipment and boilers.<br>-Troubleshoot and repair control circuitry and refrigerant circuitry.<br>-Perform preventative maintenance.<br>-Maintain accurate maintenance records on equipment.<br>-Serve as boiler operator as needed.<br>-Must wear proper PPE (safety shoes, hearing and eye protection)as required.<br>-Perform other duties as assigned.<br>&nbsp;</p><p>Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p><p>-Ability to communicate effectively and appropriately.<br>-Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.<br>-Ability to interact in an effective and appropriate manner with diverse populations, the University community and the public.<br>-Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.<br>-Ability to successfully complete assignments using appropriate methods, materials, tools and equipment in maintenance work as described above.<br>-Ability to recognize occupational hazards and take appropriate safety precautions.<br>-Ability to follow instructions.</p><p>-Ability to effectively use a portable electronic device (cellular phone, digital tablet, laptop computer) to complete work orders.<br>-Ability to drive light motor vehicle.<br>-Ability to maintain accurate records.<br>-Ability to perform light to heavy manual labor for extended periods of time under some unfavorable climatic conditions.<br>-Ability to work overtime as required.<br>-Ability to work in an on-call capacity and inclement weather duties.<br>&nbsp;</p><p>Physical Requirements</p><p>-Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.<br>-Bending, twisting and lifting weights to 100lbs.<br>-Heights and working on elevations of 60 feet.</p><p>-Working in noisy environments occasionally<br>-Work off ladders and lifts.<br>&nbsp;</p><p>Required Minimum Qualifications</p><p>-High school graduate or equivalent.<br>-A minimum of three (3) year of previous commercial HVAC work experience.<br>-Universal refrigerant-handling certification.<br>-Valid driver’s license.<br>-Experience in building and/or energy management systems.<br>-HVAC work involving electrical, refrigerants, air and water balancing and air flow.<br>-A background check will be required of the successful applicant.<br>-Names, addresses and phone numbers of three (3) references will be required for the successful applicant.</p>",
