Students will be introduced to valuable knowledge in the industrial fields and forging industry. This program is intended for students interested in pursuing a career in the manufacturing field and gain technical skills.</p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:</strong><br><strong><em>Applicable to all areas:</em></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Actively participate in efforts to establish and promote a safe and healthy work environment and inform Safety Director and Supervisor of any accidents or equipment damage that occurs.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Follow policies, programs, and procedures for the reduction and elimination of accidents, provide quality feedback to promote safer work behaviors and conditions</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Maintain an organized and clean work area</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Act professionally and cooperate with others in a team setting.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong><em>The Student Learner may gain experience in any of these departments:&nbsp;</em></strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Machine Shop</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Tool Crib</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Quality</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Maintenance</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Heat Treat</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul type=\"disc\"><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">High School Junior or Senior in &ldquo;good standing&rdquo; or recent High School graduate 16 -18 years old with a 2.5 GPA or better; Must be willing to provide transcripts and faculty/personal recommendations upon request.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Ability to operate tools and equipment safely and apply manufacturing and industry knowledge and think critically.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Successful completion of technical education courses is a plus &amp;/or current enrollment in technical education courses.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Must have effective interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all personnel.</li><li style=\"margin-left:0in;\">Basic computer skills, ability to follow instructions, both written and verbal.</li></ul><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><br></p><p style=\"margin-left:0in;\"><strong>Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:</strong><br>&nbsp;The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
