(Downtown and Metro Indianapolis) Float staff support coverage for PTO, last‑minute call‑ins, higher‑volume clinics, and front‑desk staffing needs. Mileage reimbursements available.</p><hr><h3><strong>Schedule</strong></h3><ul><li><strong>40 hours per week</strong>, with varying days, times, and clinic assignments</li><li>Hours will fall <strong>Monday–Thursday between 7:15 a.m.–6:15 p.m.</strong> and <strong>Friday 7:15 a.m.–4:15 p.m.</strong></li><li>Some shifts will be <strong>7:15 a.m.–6:15 p.m.</strong></li><li>As a float, there may be <strong>last‑minute changes</strong> to shift times or assigned locations based on staffing needs</li></ul><hr><h3><strong>Top Responsibilities</strong></h3><ul><li>Register, schedule, and check in patients</li><li>Communicate with patients, coworkers, and providers</li><li>Maintain and update medical records</li></ul><hr><h3><strong>Department Interaction</strong></h3><ul><li>Send records to referring providers and workers’ compensation adjusters</li><li>Work with other IU Health clinics for patient transfers</li><li>Collaborate with the department’s central scheduling team and insurance team</li></ul><hr><h3><strong>Skills &amp; Attributes</strong></h3><ul><li>Strong attention to detail</li><li>Ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment</li><li>Effective communication skills</li><li>Experience with <strong>Cerner or Epic</strong> is a plus</li><li>Proactive and comfortable asking questions</li><li>Strong problem‑solving skills</li></ul><hr><h3><strong>Training</strong></h3><ul><li><strong>6–8 weeks of training</strong>, beginning at one clinic to learn core responsibilities, then expanding to other clinics</li><li>Training may be extended as needed</li><li>Supportive, welcoming culture that encourages questions and feedback</li></ul><hr><h3><strong>Role Summary</strong></h3><p>This position oversees patient flow from entry to destination and ensures timely, accurate, and professional service delivery. Responsibilities include:</p><ul><li>Accurate and timely resolution of patient accounts</li><li>Collecting information to generate complete and accurate financial and demographic records</li><li>Insurance verification, prior authorization, and coordination of benefits</li><li>Communicating with payers and patients to confirm financial information</li><li>Accurate patient registration and scheduling of recurring appointments</li><li>Answering incoming calls and directing patients and visitors appropriately</li><li>Participating in departmental operations and performance‑improvement activities</li><li>Complying with infection control, equipment training, regulatory standards, and safety programs</li><li>Ordering, distributing, and maintaining department supplies</li><li>Meeting productivity, quality, and service standards to support departmental goals</li></ul><hr><h3><strong>Requirements</strong></h3><ul><li><strong>High School Diploma or GED required</strong></li><li><strong>0–3 years</strong> of customer service or medical office experience preferred</li><li>Minimum one year of medical office experience <i>or</i> a combination of customer service experience and education in insurance verification, patient registration, or medical terminology strongly preferred</li><li>Basic proficiency with <strong>Microsoft Office</strong> (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams)</li></ul></div><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p>",
