The Nuclear Radiology Specialist prepares, administers and document activities related to mediation in accordance with state regulations and institution policy.</p><p>Think you’ve got what it takes?&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Job Duties &amp; Responsibilities</strong></p><p>Preparation for procedure</p><p>Checks room daily for adequate stock necessary to facilitate continuous exam flow. Maintains appropriate inventory as indicated by posted par levels and updates supply lists when items are needed.</p><p>Confirms patient identity with approved identifiers.</p><p>Demonstrating age-appropriate care with all patients, appropriately prepares patients for procedures.</p><p>Verifies patient’s pregnancy and informed consent statuses.</p><p>Assesses factors that may contraindicate the procedure; such as medication contraindications, patient risk for reaction to medications, patient history, laboratory results, insufficient patient preparation, or artifacts.</p><p>Based on order, determines the type and dose of contrast agent to be administered based on patient’s age, weight and medical/physical status.</p><p>Anticipates and responds to patients' needs throughout the entire encounter.</p><p>Provides clear and detailed information regarding the procedure to the patient, family, and others.</p><p>Working independently performs routine and complex, portable, STAT, urgent, on-call and intraoperative cases, while accurately demonstrating anatomy and pathology through proper diagnostic scanning and positioning.</p><p>Expert knowledge of information management systems. Demonstrates systems functionalities, accurately performs functions independently, and serves as a resource to others.</p><p>Accurately and independently perform procedures, identify and resolve issues. Seek experience and knowledge in the technical area to gain expertise.</p><p>Positions self in challenging situations and responds with confidence, professionalism, and accuracy in the face of multiple demands and shifting priorities.</p><p>Build rapport and facilitate communication outside of the department. Networking, coordinating activities, become a sought after contacting the person within the working group.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Skills &amp; Requirements</strong></p><p>Technical diploma Graduate of a formal diagnostic Radiology program required</p><p>CMRT - Cert Med Radiologic Techngst by the Texas Medical Board AND CT-ARRT - ARRT RegTech Comp Tomography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) required for staff employed in Houston: to be completed by September 3, 2025, or within 18 months of entry into role, whichever is later. For Staff employed in Austin: to be completed by March 3, 2027, or within 18 months of entry into role, whichever is later. &nbsp;</p><p>CNMT - Cert-Cert Nuclear Medical TECH NMTCB required OR N-ARRT - ARRT RegTech by the Nuclear Med Tech American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) required.</p><p>3 years Radiology experience (any/all modalities) required&nbsp;</p>",
