Come join Arcwood and be part of our legacy of environmental leadership!</p>\n<h2>Essential Functions & Responsibilities </h2>\n<p><strong>Material Handler </strong>As a Material Handler you will be responsible for loading, unloading, processing and storing hazardous and nonhazardous waste materials at a permitted waste treatment facility with supervision.</p>\n<ul>\n <li>Prioritizes health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and consistently maintaining safe practices</li>\n <li>Loads, unloads and processes solid and liquid waste safely in accordance with Company, Federal, State and Local rules and regulations</li>\n <li>Operates a fork truck and Bobcat with attachments</li>\n <li>Directs liquid waste through a system of pumps to tanks for storage</li>\n <li>Performs basic spill cleanup and housekeeping duties as directed</li>\n <li>Perform chemical compatibility checks to prevent reactions and other issues</li>\n <li>Utilizes barcode system equipment to document certain inventory activities</li>\n <li>Reviews laboratory data to determine proper handling and disposal of materials</li>\n <li>Uses Department of Transportation (DOT) knowledge to match and label inbound materials for storage and shipping of containers to other sites</li>\n <li>Utilizes proper equipment to remove samples of materials for analysis and compatibility checks</li>\n <li>Operates a hydraulic baler for cardboard and other materials</li>\n <li>Maintains operating areas, walls, pipes, and floors in a clean and safe condition</li>\n <li>Utilizes knowledge of applicable EPA, DOT, OSHA and permit regulations</li>\n <li>Utilizes Arcwood coding and labeling systems to handle and manage containers</li>\n <li>Utilizes appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed including boots, gloves, suits, eye/ear protection and a respirator</li>\n <li>Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Education </h2>- High-school diploma or equivalent (required)\n<h2>Experience</h2>\n<ul>\n <li>1+ years of related experience (required)</li>\n <li>40-hour HAZWOPER certificate (preferred)</li>\n</ul>\n<h2>Benefits, Compensation & Workforce Diversity</h2>Arcwood offers competitive pay and bonus incentives.
